General Overview:

The Bressler.org Forum exists because I pay for the bandwidth, message board software and server bills out of my own pocket. There are no ads, no pop-ups, no direct marketing, or anything else that generates income to me on The Forum. "Freedom of speech" is not gauranteed if it's being used to flame or show disrespect to other members, or to the community. I, and the rest of the admins, will ban who we see fit.

If you think these rules are unfair, tough. You are welcome to leave, pay the monthly costs and put in the work to start your own Forum somewhere far away from here.

General:

• Before posting, please ask yourself the following question: "Am I making a post which is either funny, informative, or interesting on any level?" If you can answer "yes" to this, then please post. If you cannot, then refrain from posting.

• Don't be a malicious Fucktard. For the benefit of those who don't understand the term, this means that across the entire board, with the exception of "Fight Club", we treat other members of the board with standard courtesy. Any malicious flaming or purposeful antagonizing of fellow board members is unnacceptable. Continued abuse = ban hammer.

• Don't SPAM the board. This goes for political candidates, commercial enterprise and blatant pimping of your personal website, without adding anything of substance to this one. I like seeing people's personal sites, put them in your sig line so everyone can see them, but don't be an ass about it. If there's some special event going on that you want to advertise, that may be of interest to my visitors, private message me (JBMoney) first.

• Don't fuck up the forums or the computers of people using the forums. Adding any malicious hidden links (ie, URLs that are hidden to log people off the forums, or direct them to other sites), or active script, may result in your virtual crucifixion.

• Discussing and planning cross-forum personal fights is whiney teenager bullshit. We don't promote being assholes to people because of slights you imagine they've subjected you to at another web site. We don't care.. don't even post it!! Further.... DO NOT break other people's Forum rules while claiming affiliation with Bressler.org.

• Posting any image which is larger than one screensize (800 horizontal or 600 vertical) in a forum post is frankly, moronic. The advice on when to post, provided earlier, is doubly relevant when it comes to images. If you have something special you want people to see that doesn't fit these guidelines, post it to the Gallery. If you post a ridiculous image that only serves to distract from the current topic, it may be deleted and you may be warned.

• No Image Leeching!! For the technically challenged, this means, do not use the IMG tag to post images hosted on other sites. This is the equivalent of stealing their bandwidth! This means that if you don't pay the site's bandwidth bills, you are not allowed to use the IMG tag to post their graphics on this forum. If you found an amusing picture that you want to show us, upload it to your own webspace and use IMG, or just put a link. You can also upload it to Bressler.org, but then you are eating my webspace in perpetuity, so it better be worth it... THINK ABOUT IT! [b]Conversely, do not post Bressler.org/Bushwhacked.net images on other sites[/b], without asking me first, because then you are stealing from me!

• Take it easy on the Signature Lines!! Feel free to use a signature line, but keep it compact and consider its impact on other users. If it's text, do not use uneccessary line breaks, and do not use up more that 100 pixels in screen height. Same rule for images, and make sure those images are no more than 25k in size. Additionally, if you are posting to a Photoshop thread, or another graphically intense thread, either DO NOT use your sig pic at all, or limit it to your very first post on that thread. Use a little common sense, those threads are already killing modem users!

• Don't cross-post the same message to several message groups.

• Don't post pornography, unless it's really good, and then, only post it in "The Grotto" discussion group. Now, I'm sure we can have considerable debate about WHAT IS PORN? For purposes of this discussion, if I'm a pre-school teacher surfing at work and I can't look at a particular picture here, then it's porn. No penis, no anus, no nipple, no poon, no scat, etc, except in "The Grotto".

• DO take the time to format your post, as if humans might be reading it, and show a little respect for the rest of us. For example, if you are cutting and pasting from a forwarded email, DO NOT leave the stupid little ">" or other marks indicating how many other degenerates have passed the same message along. Also, often in the same instance, at least make an attempt to get rid of excessive line breaks in your post so that a three sentence post doesn't take up an entire screen.

• DO USE the appopriate message group. If you don't see one that fits, use the 'This, That & Whatnot' Forum.

• Don't piss me off.

• Don't take things personally and get all emotional like some sexually ambiguous Australians might do.

• Do not post illegal software, etc...

• We will ban anybody attempting to circumvent any rule in a way that they obviously feel is remarkably clever and witty (especially Stibroker).

• HAVE SOME FUN. INSULT THE FRENCH.
