First:You tap the alcohol from a torpedo, and then, add Navy grape juice and a smidgen of kerosine. (just for that aged flavor)
Second:Two hours later, the Captain just happens to come down to the weapon stores to smoke.
Third:He finds 10 drunks, three of whom are humping torpedos and singing 'Lily Marlene'. Volatile fumes are thick, and spillage is everywhere on the deck. Two more sailors put emergency underwear on their heads and dance the Lindy to Purple Haze.
Fourth:The Captain is in awe of the steel salami show and drops the cigarette from his mouth into a pool of mojo, and then everyone, "Sees the light!". HALLELUJAH!!
Fifth:Years later, in an obscure diary from Machinist Mate Cletus Foot aboard the USS Forest Fire that fatefull day, began his tale with...
"Dear diary, you'll never guess what kinda fun we had today."
MOJO.... Let's see... I remember 4 different kinds of alcohol. A shot or two of sprite and maybe maybe some grenadine for flavor. I lost my recipe shirt a long time ago. I think my brother stole it. What I really remember about MOJO is... you don't try to stand up (by yourself) after the second pitcher, unless you want to meet the floor up close and personal.
When I came home on leave in '86, I wore the shirt to a bar and had the bartender make me a "tallboy" of it. It cost me almost 8 dollars!!!!!! I just about died when he told me the price. If I remember correctly, a pitcher was about 2 dollars in P.I.
Anyways, If you find the recipe... P.M. it to me or better yet, post it here. I am sure that many of us would like to know what we were drinking. :D

I have a couple that I've found on the net, but still can't find the little piece of yellow paper that a PI bar girl wrote the recipe down on for me.
I believe the first one is the original recipe I had.
1/2 Pint Rum
1/2 Pint Cherry Brandy
1 Beer
1 Coke
1 Orange Soda
1 7-UP
1 Big Glass of Pineapple Juice
or
6 oz Rum
12 oz Beer
12 oz Coca Cola
6 oz Orange Juice
6 oz Pineapple Juice
3 oz Tequila
Thanx Eagle3, This is a little late, but what the hell. I passed on the recipes to a former jarhead that was wondering what REAL mojo was. I think he plans on mixing some up....I can't wait to see his face the next morning. LOL. I, personally, know better than to drink it like we used to. But, he is still young and dumb. It could be a good laugh for us all. I'll keep you posted.

What you guys are calling MOJO, we used to call MUCHO,MUCHO in the early 60's. We did most of our drinking in either the Miami Club or Da Cave. No matter what it was called, many a good man prayed to the porcelin god the next morning. Had the same results when drinking Agadama (?) wine in Yokosuka .
