Alright, I know it's play money, but there had to be something that could be done with it, and someway to make more once you ran out... make sense?

So... now I've moved it all over to a system where points are made with user activity, user reputation, the bookie, and other stuff.

Points can be spent on the bookie, or in THE STORE (see link in navbar): changing your custom titles, changing someone else's custom title (hehe), changing how your name appears and other stuff. More to be added later. You can also give money away (if you're a dumbass).

I'm sure that point costs and whatnot will be adjusted as time goes on.

Everyone started out at 0 unfortunately, so it's a level playing field, and I can't retain the previous wagers made. Consider tham a test of the Bookie system.

As far as I know, you can only bet what you have, but I haven't tested the theory. So you may have to make some posts before having anything to bet with.

New Threads and replies make points. Replies make less. The number of people that view one of your threads makes points for you.

The TimeWasting Forum is weighted downward significantly, so don't consider that an easy way to make points.

User referrals make a lot of points. ;)

Good/bad reputation makes/takes points as well, but scaled down quite a bit so as not to be abused.

Consider this the new Bookie discussion thread, and make recommendations here on bets to be made, or improvements.

How do you find just how many points you have other than viewing under your avatar in a message? I couldn't find anywhere to tell me how much I had when I bet or banked? I thought I looked everywhere too. Did I miss something?

As long as you didn't bet it on Shaq-Field after the deal was announced, you might actually have some left, cause whoever did will be broke for sure.

If there was an announcement I didn't know it. That's why I bet 3x more on Dallas that I did the field, but if an announcement had been made all bets after should be nullified. Oh well, easy come, easy go.

The Shaq announcement was at 8:30pm pst. I trust ya.

Kobe is closed to more bets because of Shaq.

You still have an hour to bet the farm on the French thingy.

We shoulda bet on the "DNC in Boston Surprise"~! You see the "breaking news" on CNN?
They got that guy from sunday...
Can we start placing our bets on the "October Surprise"? I bet it's Osama. And I also wanna bet on Saddam not making it to trial.
Serious though. I wanna bet.

JBMoney

Saddam is already in one of the Deadpools, so that's kind of repetitive.

Osama would have been in a Deadpool, but I don't think there's any gaurantee that he is still alive.

We could have a bet on whether he's killed, captured, or confirmed dead, between now and the election, but that would be holding on to the money for an awfully long time.

The best way to do it, and what we probably would be doing anyway, is to wait until sometime shortly after Labor Day to throw that one up.

May be the only hockey we get to bet on for a long while... :what:

That's a pretty good list. I didn't know Max Schmeling was still alive. He got screwed over by the Nazis for losing to Joe Louis. I'm surprised he didn't get killed jumping out of air planes. Paratrooper jumps onto Crete costs the Germans 1/3 of those who jumped with death and major injuries. And that was just from jumping! :scary:

So do ya feel game to make a book on the oncoming Indonesian elections, will terrorists sway the result like they did in Spain? N' how about the upcoming Aussie election?
From what I can gather from here I reckon Bush 'll win the US vote so I'll place my bet on him!

Live one day at a time, without fear, Tammy Faye Messner said earlier this month as she battled cancer, weighing just 65 pounds.

Messner, who as Tammy Faye Bakker helped her husband, Jim, build a multimillion-dollar evangelism empire that collapsed in disgrace, has died, her manager said Saturday. She was 65.

Messner had battled colon cancer since 1996 that more recently spread to her lungs. She passed away peacefully Friday at her home near Kansas City, Mo., said Joe Spotts, who was also Messner's bookiing agent.

Was this one in the deadpool? This would have been a good one, from the perspective of the time of passing. What a dreadful way to have died though.
