I love Jerry West!!

If Phil Jackson could juggle all the egos in Chicago he can do it in Los Angeles...

So what do you get when you hire one of the most successful coaches to oversee one of the most talented teams ever assembled?

Show me the title!!

I hate to say it, but I agree with the Jackal. Can you believe it??!!?! PHIL JACKSON BABY!!!

I have every confidence that he will be able to discipline this team and make them into a TEAM instead of a group of stars. He has already made several comments about Kobe and how he reminds him of a certain Bulls legend. But, let's not go there, nobody can be compared to MJ.

Jackson stated that a major factor in his coming to LA is that the pieces are already in place. He said that the players are here and that he doesn't have to work 20 hours a day, 7 days a week just to get a team together. He has the talent, and he definitely has the knowledge.

So, if David Robinson wants to win the title, he better do it now, because it may be the last time he sees the Finals as a player.

One question though, who will emerge as the on-court leader for the Lakers?? Also, any ideas on who Jackson may bring in??

Phil Jackson is a joke. If he had any manhood, he'd go to a crappy team and TAKE them somewhere. The lakers are already talented. Without an already dope squad, phil sucks. Lakers don't need him or pippen, or whoever. Lakers just need to ditch kobe. Kobe has too big an ego, and thinks it is his team. Once he is gone, no matter coach, they will play more TEAM ball. Then they will win. Period. Don't need phil.

I agree with some of Kurten's points. I don't think Phil Jackson's a "joke", but I think he's overrated. He spent most of his time in Chicago with arguably the three best players in the league (at their positions & thankjs to MJ), and an incredibly talented supporting cast. How can you not win with that?

As far as I know, he's never had to "build" a team. But hey, if it's true that all the Lakers need is an ego juggler/babysitter, then maybe he's the best man for the job.

I hope he does well.

I don't know if Kobe is the problem, but there certainly is a problem somewhere and it's either Kobe, Shaq or equally shared. I've never seen Shaq as one who's going to provide the leadership that champs need, if he was, Kobe wouldn't be continueing to make tremendously "rookie" type mistakes. So who's fault is that, Shaq for not providing the leadership, or, Kobe for continueing to play like he's the only shooter on a high school squad?
