Who should be the MVP of the NBA?
Malone, O'Neil, Iverson, Duncan, Jordan, Jar Jar Binks?
Malone -- NO -- cry me a river and take Stockton down it with you -- they need both retire losers.
O'Neil -- NO -- great stats, weak franchise.
Iverson -- NO -- he and Spreewell make the all-hodlum team, both punk-ass bitches.
Jordan -- NO -- he plays on the PGA doesn't he.
Jar Jar -- NO -- ears to big, he does speak the correct language.
Duncan -- YES -- he has taken his team to a new level, and a championship.
You can definately make a case for Duncan and I would have to agree completely. But, I cannot let you bash the Laker franchise and sit quiet. This is a great franchise with a hall of fame past and an optimistic future. There may be questions about heart, effort, defense, and too many distractions, but we are in a city with high expectations. We EXPECT to win a championship every year, and we should with the amount of talent we possess. They're just putting the pieces together for a real run at the title. The last thing LA wants, is a championship with an asterick stating, "short season". We want to be the first of the new millenium. Lakers in 2000 baby!

I bashed on the Laker franchise to get a reaction and I did, thank you Bud.
Bud is right, they have been an extremely succesful BB program and they have assembled a great squad now, and yes the city has more love for their team then most. That is why I am a Laker fan myself.

What discussion about the Lakers would be complete without a take from the Jackal?
Wow, I am pleased with the quality take from Bud.
Well said!
As for Yo-Hahn, well at least you admitted the error of your ways.
The Lakers definately have a way to go. I don't want to repeat my take after the Spurs debacle. Check out my previous post.
These are also quality articles,

The lakers are everything that is bad about pro basketball in the 90's.
Tons of talent. No ethics. Simple.
You've got the worst dumbass fans, who know nothing about bball, leaving 6 point games in the fourth, cuz it looks like LA Might Lose. Then you have the perennial all show, no real talent kobe. Well, I take that back, talent, just no mental game. Black hole of basketball. Pass it in, it never comes out. LA/kobe fans BELIEVE THE HYPE, and that is sad. They have tons of talent, easily the best center in bball, and get swept twice in a row. What a joke. Shows how pathetic their ethics are. Even worse if they start winning. Then all the fairweather no-nothing LA fans will crawl out of the woodwork.Sad. All that talent going to waste in a basketball cesspit like LA.Egos don't win titles. It is a five man game. Even jordan did not win until he got role players and used them. Sad.
