View Full Version : Rock Trivia
Our radio station has an ongoing "Stump the DJ" rock trivia contest. I'm sure they Google while you're on the line with them. I almost had them stumped one time, but they pulled it out at the last second. Anybody have some little known fact?
Sheryl Crow used to be a back up singer for Eric Clapton
Michael Jackson used to be black
Metallica used to play good music
David Lee Roth used to be cool
Led Zeppelin was named so because a record producer once said after first hearing tha band that they would go over like a lead ballon in the music industry.

Anything Foreigner, Kansas, Aerosmith, Heart, Van Halen, Queen, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Who..the only places we could actually see these bands on TV was In Concert on Friday nights, Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack and Saturday Night Live
I was 12 then and my brother was 7 years older so I was into Ted Nugent, Pink, Black Sabbath, Emerson lake and palmer, stuff like that. Kind of hard rocker rebel. Anything gay like air supply or disco was really a bummer!

Speaking of Bob Seger, ever hear the original version of Turn the page, not the one on Live Bullet. It sounds very different.
Duane Allman played slide guitar on Eric Clapton's song "Layla". And I think Duane was also married to Cher.

Nope, Gregg was married to Cher. They had a son, Elija Blue. Duane died in 1971 or 1972 in a motorcycle crash.
Hey the Allman Brothers could do it up right. Shame Duane died so early in life.

You know I was thinking about when Texas own Stevie Ray Vaughn died in Wisconsin in 1990 I think after a big Jam, at the time I wasn't a big fan, I liked Eric Johnson better, but Jimmy Vaughn of The Fabulous Thunderbirds opted out of flying on the Helicopter that later crashed.
