The first display F-4 Phantom II was loaded aboard about 30 minutes ago. I got some screen caps (http://www.cv41.org/gallery/crisscross) from the web cam. Before the F-4 was loaded up the barge/crane took the F-14 Tomcat from the USCG station over to North Island for restoration.

Hi Midway fans

I work at Building 94 at NAS North Island and I got to see alot of the movement from work today. Great job by all involved with the moves.

Greetings Midway Fans!

Your intrepid photographer was aboard the Midway when the F-4 was loaded. I have a bunch of Pic's and I am in the process of Captioning them. I sent Buzz a couple to get him started but look right here for all the latest.

Pete Clayton let me have extraordinary access and I capitilized on it. Picks of the F-4, Anchor being moved from the flight deck to the pier etc.

Give Buzz some time, I am sure his wife has an intense dislike for me. This being "Sight Unseen!) It usually takes someone a couple hours to realize they don't like me! CHuckle SHe might hold a negative thought because I send Buzz all these Pics and he feels compelled to work on them right away.

The A4 is being delivered in a week or two and there are no plans for restoration. I hear it’s in very good condition. Plans are to deliver it right to the ship. Initially it’s permanent location will be in the hangar bay, forward on the starboard side just aft of the entry that will be used by the public (near the Captain’s ladder).
I’m sure someone will get some pictures posted as soon as it happens.

Greetings Fans!
Yesterday May 5th, the F-14 and the A-4 were loaded aboard. You can see it with this link. It is pre sized, the quality is not that good and it only works during daylight hours because it is a true "Live look".

undefined :D The USS Midway and the SDACM hosted a reunion of Japanese and American WWII pilots. Admiral Mclaughlin addressed the reunion as hand shakes, smiles and remembering lost friends were the order of the day. IT was fitting that the USS Midway was chosen for this re-union. Parked near by are three Japanese war ships that are in San Diego for an inport period. San Diego,s NBC affiliate KNSD 7/39 covered the event on their nightly news at 5pm.
