I used to love crappy shows like Who's the Boss... I was never a huge cartoon fan but I did like Astro Boy, transformers, the smurfs and the jetsons. But my favourite shows that I used to watch as a child were Dynasty and Sons and Daughters (a bitchy aussie soap)... those two shows taught me how to interact with people and have helped me get where I am today
so what shows did you all like watching as a kid?

Hmmm, Bonanza, the Ed Sullivan Show, Leave It to Beaver, Ozzie & Harriet, My Three Sons, Captain Kangaroo, Commander Tom, The Rifleman, Rocky & Bullwinkle...I liked almost everything. I started watching Coronation Street one day when I was home sick and got hooked (I was maybe 9 years old) and I still watch it to this day. :D
Sky King
The Whirlybirds
The Thunderbirds
Fireball XL-5
Johnny Quest
and anything else with airplanes and rockets.:)

This might sound a bit corney, but my family watched Murder She Wrote every Friday night. We'd have dinner, clean up, make popcorn and sit and watch. We'd have little slips of paper that at 20 minutes to the hour we'd have to write down who we though had murdered the victim. It was fun to my family.

I love that Kim, very inventive!
Um, SB - Sons and Daughters was a huge favourite! The Restless Years, The Young Doctors, Prisoner, No. 96, The Box (these are all really tacky Aussie shows from years ago). Arcade (man, that only lasted like 6 weeks it was that bad). I've always watched DAYS (probably since I was 15) and still do religiously. Never got into cartoons. Loved the Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. I had 4 older brothers so I had to put up with crap like Hogan's Heroes, Mod Squad, Get Smart but I hated those shows. My only revenge was that they had to watch the Brady Bunch! LOL

When I was a kid, we (and everyone else) only had one tv set in the house... not to mention, only 3 networks.. and I was the baby.. so, I usually had to settle for watching whatever someone else was watching... when it was my grandparents, I watched Bonanza, Mannix, Gunsmoke... when it was my mom, I watched soap operas.. when it was my brother, I watched Wild Wild West and Man from U.N.C.L.E. I loved Beverly Hillbillys when I was little.. and My Favorite Martian. I can remember being scared shitless when Twilight Zone would come on... as soon as they started telling me not to adjust my set.. I'd start freaking

TV first hit Australia in 1956, and I was around 10 when my family got one. There was only one family in town who had a TV set for a while (it was a small town), and I can remember one night when the Alfred Hitchcock movie 'Rebecca' was on, and half the town was at their place to watch it!!! As it was an adult movie, we kids weren't allowed to watch it, so we just had to keep ourselves entertained elsewhere. Before we got TV, it was the radio, and my brother and I used to sit next to it every night listening to kids' serials.....
There was an old couple down the road who got TV before us too, and they used to let me watch 'The Mickey Mouse Club' at their place. I was in trouble once for something, and my parents said that I couyldn't go that day, and I snuck out the window and went anyway. I'm pretty sure they never found out about it.
I never got into cartoons either, I much preferred things with 'real' people in them.
I would never miss 'Countdown' (an Aussie pop music show), and loved all the live shows when they eventually started being made. Graham Kennedy was a genius and one funny guy. Dave Allen was another one......
And the wrestling, with Jack Little - it was great. Much better than the shit that passes for wrestling these days.
'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' was another favourite.

I used to love Metal Mickey, but I'm starting to suspect that I may actually have been the only child on the face of the planet to have seen the show.
It was sort of like an English 'ALF', only instead of an alien they had a huge cardboard robot called Mickey.... :hehe:
It was a ripper.
