Well it seems we are in a time where basketball has gone dry and Malone Gets another MVP.

Hey I can hold no arguement angainst him not getting it. After the Jazz were shot down in game 6 (Malone 8 points) I surely thought his chances would be shot down with them.

But, hey the Raven will take the MVP as a consulation prize.

Well Now that this is done. How about them Dodgers?

Wow, I just sensed a great disturbance in the force. It was as if thousands of fans screamed in horra and then were silent...

Nevermind, it was just a flashback of the Jazz fans reaction from Portland's game 6 thrashing of the Western Conference "Champs."

Question.

How does Malone's MVP provide comfort? I mean if Shaq had an MVP-type year I sure in the heck would expect the Lakers to challenge for a title in the Finals.

Its too bad the voting is done BEFORE the playoffs. That would disqualify the Mailman for sure.

But if the Raven, McKay88 and the rest of the Utah fans want to ease their disappointment through Malone's empty accomplishment, go for it.

It's funny, with the exception of Malone, Barkley and David Robinson, most of the all-time great MVPs in the last 20 years led their team to the promised land (See Jordan, Olajuwon, Bird, Magic)

Malone is a good player. But greatness is defined by carrying ones team when it counts -- and that's the playoffs.

I hold Shaq and Kobe to the same standard. Fortunately, they have at least another 10 years to get the job done.

Dust of the trophy case and plop in the MVP. But don't worry about making any room for championship awards any time soon.

Out-

Karl Malone as MVP? Who voted this one! Isn't the MVP supposed to encompass the overall importance you have to your team? I don't disagree that Malone has skillz, but I would think that the 374 assists that Stockton had were equally valuable! If you look at the overall game and the effect you have on your team and your sport, Tim Duncan should have gotten the nod. I'd like to hear a good argument from Raven to dispute this.
