For some time now I've been checking out the Forum with much interest - particularly Basketball Smack. There's nothing I enjoy more than seeing someone getting worked over - and there have been some truly poetic smack sessions going on there! All this time I have been yearning to join in on the fun, but I willingly admit that I know almost nothing about sports - other than the fact that baseball uniforms are the best uniforms of all the sports. We will discuss why later!

After speaking with others, I learned that I wasn't the only one. There are others who share my feelings of disenfranchisement. I spoke with Buffy, and together we went to the Forum Godfather about my yearning for a place to be heard.

Here are the results. The X-Styles. Here we will discuss all things in, and slam all things that are out. All are welcome to join in on this fun. Not only will we be discussing and slamming, but teaching. We will be sharing our tips and secrets for leading a truly stylish existence. Clothes, cars, books and even the TV shows that the stylistically superior watch - all will be discussed. And no style forum would be complete without full devotion to the most important fashion item - the cornerstone of every great outfit - shoes. Except red shoes. Red shoes are good for nothing except doggie chew toys, and dogs are good for nothing except disposing of red shoes.

The truth is out there.

Princess B --

I have been so ready for this type of venue in which to discuss very important life decorations.

I would first like to remind everyone reading that you all basically have no control over your lives, that's for Providence and fate. You can make good and bad decisions that will generally reflect your life situation, but you basically cannot control what happens in your life. BUT, there is one thing that you can control and that is what you are wearing. Think of your biggest disaster this month. Could you control it? No, but you could have looked very cool dealing with it. Start thinking this way my friends. When your girlfriend calls to say she just fell on her face, don't ask if she sprained her ankle, instead, ask if she looked cute doing it. And yes, always remember what your mother said, no holey underwear. You never know when a paramedic (USUALLY cute) will be cutting your pants off and a cute lacy thong/bra set will help your medical service immensly.

Enough about that. Princess B, there are sometimes exceptions to every rule. Generally, red shoes are a no, especially flats with white tights and a navy dress. But I was a candy-striper and had red Keds. They made the outfit so much more enjoybale to patients as I filled water jugs and took dinner orders.

Can't wait for your next posting.....until then, make sure your purse and shoes match.

Welcome goDESS!

You are so right about Keds. However, I do not consider this an exception to the red shoe rule. Tennis shoes are in a class entirely separate from "shoes." While white shoes are generally a horrific miscalculation no matter what you're wearing, tennis shoes that are white are fine. Yes, even after Labor Day. So I guess this counts as a general rule for X-Styles - any generalizations about shoes are not directed at tennis shoes of any type.

Regarding paramedics - it is way too true that they are usually cute. Dangerously true, as evidenced by the fact that I almost totalled my car while checking out a paramedic on the freeway. $4,000 worth of damage to my car, a totally destroyed section of guard rail and all I have to show for it is a really amusing story! For those of you who don't know the end of this story - no the paramedic didn't stop and the guy who was my pasenger was not amused!

By the way goDESS- what kind of underwear were you wearing with your candystriper uniform?

Love & where is J9???

What type of shoe would you suggest for someone who was going sky diving? Further, what type would be good for someone who was going sky diving in pink tafeda?

Just curious...

Combat boots. The only way to save yourself if you have to wear pink taffeta (we here at X-Styles realize that bridesmaid dresses happen) is to wear combat boots. Actually, that sounds like kind of a cool skydiving outfit. I'm sure you can pull it off!

And since skydiving will increase your chances of ambulatory contact - make sure to wear that lacey thong/bra set! I know that you are now saying "ewwwww, gross" but soon you will see the wisdom of the thong theory. One of the only things worse than your purse not matching your shoes is panty lines.

Buffy, Buffy, Buffy,

What makes you think that I would give advice to anyone who would wear pink taffeta?

But I guess my advice would be to visit Qualen at Nordstrom in Santa Ana and have him pick out the coolest knock me downs or visit www.stevemadden.com and pick out the most popular shoe (and please, I beg of you, DO NOT TRUST YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT) then have SOMEONE ELSE build an outfit around it.

But trust me on the pink taffeta....

Hello Princess B,

For those of you who don't know, I usually (when I was a candy-striper too) wear the underwear that Shannon has on his head! (Notice that Shannon has nothing on his head.)But some days I wear thongs. Lately I've been matching them to my bras, right J9?

: )

It is so good that you don't know. This information, added with what I've learned about you in Forum Soup is making me think of you in a whole new light.

Princess B,

Look at me in a new light?

Would that be black light (RAGE), taffeta light (?), star light, light in the loafers?

princess b,

You should only talk smack in this limited bullitin board. If you entered the man's realm of sports you would more then likely be "worked over"

G Money.

Sit down, shut the hell up and prepare for your beating.

If you would do your homework and read my debut posting, you would know that (being a traditional woman) I realized I have nothing to add to the sports forums.

I also realize that men (having to put up with nagging women all day and most of the night) deserve to have their own forums, bulletin boards, clubs, dudefests, and an assortment of other venues with which to relieve themselves of the bitch residue that they are covered with during normal hours.

This is precisely why I asked to have my own bulletin board started.

You must be a chick to be so irrational, you moron. I have stuck to this "limited bulletin board" - just as you should stick to yours.

I have stayed out of yours to avoid being "worked over" why don't you do the same??!!

Unless you have something relevant to add to the style discussion?

princess B,

You must be a "traditional" gal because from your reaction you must not be getting any!! You should get laid and then you might calm down some. As for your limited chat room, please stick to that which you know the most. Such deep subjects as clothing and makeup. You are correct in that you should not venture into the big boys area.

G Money -

I can see from your limited posting history that you too are sticking to this "limited chat room" - is this topic "that which you know most"?

What's wrong? Are you afraid to venture into the bigs boys area?

princess B,

I just found this small chat room on friday. I have played in some of the bigger rooms around. At least we now know that you do some homework. But not enough to make honor roll, judging from your other posts. Keep trying.

Yours truly

Is "getting laid" what you consider to be a deep topic of discussion, G Money? Stop being a fighter and start being a lover. We know you love this room. We can see it in your posts. Deep down inside of you, there is a meaningless and shallow person just waiting to come out. As the Godfather says "Let it all out, I'm here for you".
