Over the next week or so, we'll be going through the categories and winners, as you the members have decided. ;) Limited Democracy in action baby!!
While the "presenters" may be someone other than myself, the standard format, at least for member categories, will be something like:
Winner: Person or persons, in the case of a tie, who received the most votes
Runner Up: Where it wasn't a runaway victory we may list someone who was right on the heels of the winner. There won't necessarily be a runner up for each.
Honorable Mention: Folks who got more than one vote, but weren't really in the running. Listed mostly for purposes of self-aggrandizement or novelty.
Whooda Thunk It: Unusual votes.
This thread is open for your conversational recreation.
Let me just say ahead of time, that this is for entertainment purposes only and I hope that no one takes offense at the categories. Awards with a negative connotation are offered in the spirit of fun, and I hope no one takes it otherwise, except Stibroker.
If you're still allowed to post here, you're a valued member of the community... I don't care what anyone says about you... except in the case of Stibroker.

Citizens of Bressler.org, welcome to the Bressler's Choice Awards of 2003, recognizing the best, and worst, that Bressler.org has to offer.
Also, a very special welcome to those of you who were able to join me in my tent for the pre-award show festivities. If you folks are having any problem sitting, the ushers will gladly provide you with extra seat cushions.
It's my priviledge to present the first two awards in what promises to be the longest Awards ceremony since the three month orgy of sacrifice leading to my own coronation as Emperor.

Those were good times. Anyhow, on with the show... I've been charged with presenting two awards.
*looks at list*
The selection of awards for me to present must have obviously been done at random as these are subjects far from my heart, but so be it.

We received a number of congratulatory telegrams for this event - from people congratulating themselves for not being here.
When I was asked to present the following awards my first thought was, "Putzbah! You gotta be kidding me!?" and, when I saw who the nominees were I booked a flight back to Brooklyn. However, I'm here because I feel a responsiblity of sort. I mean, without me most of these friends from down under wouldn't even be here.
First presentation up is the "Koala 2003", awarded to the Best Aussie of the year. Before I introduce our winner, I'd like to introduce several people who admire and revere her. *short pause* And since there's no one here like that, I'll introduce her.

Honorable mention awardees are Seaman Stains & Greenbelt. Seaman sticks to the old values: life, liberty, and the pursuit of a quick piece of ass. He's so narrow-minded though, he only has one eyebrow. Greenbelt? Well I talked with her earlier tonight and I could tell she felt comfortable with me when she used my tie to wipe drool off her mouth.
To balance out the good.... we gotta look at the bad and recognize badness where it exists. Now, I've been told that the nominees for this next prestigous award serve no redeeming social value. I disagree. If anything they serve as a rotten example to the rest of us.
I'm talking about the "Dingo 2003" award that goes to the Worst Aussie of the year. I can also say this about the nominees, There's no middle ground with them - you either hate them or detest them.

What can you say about a woman who is admired, revered, and loved by everyone? I can start by saying she's not the woman we're honoring tonight, JNR! I don't like her - and I always will. I don't want to say she's immature, but the woman can cuss like a 10-year-old.
Melendipity picks up the honorable mention award and she's afraid nobody will remember her when she's gone. Gee, I can think of several reasons she'll be remembered. She wouldn't like any of them, but I can think of them.
Well, I was going to call on our next presenter now, but he's not quite finished with my dessert yet. Hey, what do you expect from someone who was born in an Edsel?

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'm very glad I could be here for this first presentation of the Bresslers. Unfortunately, I can't stay long as I have the remaining All-Star Survivors doing setups until I return. Anyone who stops before I get back, has to help give Richard Hatch a 'brazilian wax'.

While a lot of youse seem to think I'm some sort of ghostnic, it's a fact that, on average, my threads are the most replied to threads on Bressler.org. So... I got that goin for me.. which is nice.
Maybe that's not sayin much when you only have a couple hundred posts, but I've had more posts deleted than many folks will ever make, and I do a lot of the boss's dirty work... *leans to one side and points toward the crowd*... so, you watch yourselves.
