Typical conservative response... never, ever bash or censor a fellow conservative. Instead one needs to point out someone that is equally obnoxious (well.. hopefully equal) on the "other side".
Ok Recardo... why don't you point out some of Moveon.org's material (IE: standard web page material) that is as bad as:
"If they have the one innocent person who has ever to be put to death this century out of over 7,000, you probably will get a good movie deal out of it."---MSNBC 7/27/97
or
"The presumption of innocence only means you don't go right to jail."---Hannity & Colmes 8/24/01
That's one of the problems with the Republican party... you guys never have the balls to stand up and tell one of your own that they're wrong.

That's a problem with both parties. When your boy Clinton was caught lying his ass off, none of the Dems who could have made a difference said jack. They just circled the wagons and blamed the Republican party for Clinton's perjurous behavior.
And I guess you've never heard one conservative express anger at Bush for the massive spending increases and his desire to give amnesty to illegal aliens? I've heard those plenty.

Hey Eddy, guess again. I'm pretty much independent and though I like Bush, I would probably vote for Edwards or Liebermann over him.
Now, as for your "typical conservative response" comment, how come you don't simultaneously throw out the comment "typical liberal accusation" in the same breath only direct the comment at Spaz? Seems to me a one-sided accusation begs a one-sided response, but you're blaming only the responder, which in itself is an implicit one-sided accusation.
Does Ann make crackpot comments? Sure she does. Previously I said nothing other than she looks hot, which she also does. I'm not going to waste my time looking up moveon.org's bullshit to counter the relatively benign comments you mention above. I find them more humorous than anything.
ABL! Anything But Liebermann!:(

Relax Ricardo. Ed is just trying to get your goat. Ed is actually a closet conservative (at least 70 % of him). He says such things because he honestly believes that every conservative statement or the appearance of said conservative statement means you are a mindless rank and file kind of person.(Never mind the liberal onslaught trying to destroy our country:scary: )
He believes most conspiracy theories,( see above parenthesis)depending on the the time of day and the position of Saturn in relation to Uranus and the moon.:hehe:
Ed will challenge your post for several reasons, #1 to make you defend your position cornered by a few choice words(he was using the liberals attack this time...i.e. typical conservative), #2 allow you to make a rebuttal, and #3 either agree to disagree, or start from 1 again.
In my opinion, Ed will defend a different point of view, just for some entertainment. That and I believe he tires of the general moderate/conservative tone of this sub-forum.
I have always enjoyed discourse with Ed.
Just my 2 cents.

We don't want HillaryCare, as was proved by the House being turned over to the Republican Party in '94, after she tried to nationalize it. Worry about your own country, we can handle ours. We don't need a bunch of foreign bleeding-hearts to try to turn us into Utopia, prove that it works there first.
And just so you know why I am laughing, you got mad because I compared you to Hillary, said don't compare you to her, and then you wnat us to adopt her biggest dream, nationalized health care. If you don't want to be compared to her, don't sound like her.

Who said I wanted you to adopt a NHS?
The more americans who die because they can't afford health care, the more who are killed by that illegal retard who calls himself your boss, the more big business screws your sorry asses in colusion with both your main partys the more I laugh when I here Americans describe their country as.
The Home of The Free and The Land Of The Brave (or whatever)

Go on, keep working damn hard for your bosses who would kill you and sell your organs if they thought they could get a good return (plagarism sucks) and then believe the lies they spout at you.
I'll just continue laughing my ass off.

My boss treats me well. That's why I still work for her.
Why even bother with us, if that's how you feel? Why not just sit back and let us go for that ride in the handbasket?
Illegal retard? (Now you REALLY sound like Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton.) The man who won the Presidency, and every recount done by all the liberal media? You should just move on. dotorg. And get over it, Bush won and will likely win this year. Legally both times. You should study us a little harder before you make such asinine statements, and stop listening to what your liberal college professors are spewing.

Oh, OK. But in a capitalist society, people tend to earn wealth according to their desires and abilities. Bill Gates, for example, became wealthy because of his ideas (some stolen from Xerox, but in any case, he made the Windows OS dominant...)
You can either go through life hating them for their wealth, or you can go about doing what it takes to join them. Talk to someone you consider wealthy, and ask them how they got thier wealth. More often than not, you will hear about 90 hour work weeks, time away from family, no vacations, things like that.
Yeah, you got your cheats, your inheritances, etc, but most wealthy people earned it the old fashioned way, hard work.
I here what you say, for is it not written.

Yeah, P. T. Barnum said something to that effect, but I'm not sure what you mean by that. You think I'm a sucker for not hating the rich?

I think you're a sucker for aspiring to be rich. It ain't gonna happen.
Why be rich when you can be well off?
shotglass
01-27-04, 09:53 AM
I don't care about being rich. Never have.
I am already well off. That may mean different things to different people, but to me it means that I can buy what I need to satisfy my desires. I achieved that goal by hard work. Anyone can do that, as long as they are willing to get off the sofa and do something to help themselves.
I am rich. I am aspiring to be really really rich. I did it all by myself. I came to this island with a toothbrush and $13.
