Damn customers piss me off sometimes. I know this incident is minor compared to others, but I just had a complaint from a customer who was referred to a rep literally 15 minutes ago, and this dude is bitching because the rep hasn't returned his call yet. Mind you this is a new, small customer who is just inquiring about information at this point, but dammit it has only been 15 minutes. Some reps probably spend more time on the can than that.

Friggin asshole customers. I'm sure some of you have some stories to tell. Please enlighten us on the bad ones....

Naw, this is a real business that is supposed to be dealing with professionals across the country. This dude is talking some nit sale and thinks his ass should be kissed for it.

And besides, over here on this side if the country, Walmart doesn't refer its customers to reps. We are not as spoiled as elsewhere.

I've worked in some sort of customer service capacity all my life. My job is a little more "grown up" than my early jobs that required name tags, but customers are customers... whether they're trying to save a dime or thousands, they can be just as frustrating. I could write a book, but I'll just share this morning's doozy...

A lady called me yesterday to set an appointment for an estimate on remodeling her investment property. This morning, I had a 5 page fax waiting for me... a detailed contract, ready for us to sign. We haven't even looked at her property yet and SHE has written the quote. WTF? This is a very large project and she's priced everything, down to the last nail. She even wrote in a stipulation that we knock off $100 a day if we aren't done by the estimated finish date. We could really use a large contract right now, but this one just isn't worth it.

Kimmy, THAT is the type of customer that you probably don't want. If she is so presumptuous as to determine everything in advance, believe me she'll find a lot of shit to nitpick later and will withhold payment based upon her vision of the world. She's also probably the type with whom you'll want to document every time a subcontractor farts as the fumes might affect a paint color in the remodelling.

Don't know why but this reminds me of a lady who lived below a girlfriend in an apartment building. Mind you this was a very solidly built structure out of steel and concrete. This lady who lived below complained non-stop that she could hear my girlfriend's cat walking around upstairs and that the noise from the cat footsteps was "deafening." I kid you not, that was her word. Friggin people crack me up.
