View Full Version : Jazz go down in a Blazer glory
I am not one to use many words like the Jackal. I realize I talked the smack and now I have to take the consequences.
But as the old addage goes there's always next year.
Anyway still expect Raven to continue his quality Rantings.
No I shall go into the shadows from whence I came.

That is OK Raven, I had also planned to stay out of this chat room because tempers were getting just a little carried away! I can't help it though, I am addicted! I hate to say I told you so because, I still have to get past San Antonio (and that scares me). Indiana is still a lock! Sorry, I just have to say it, "WHO IS THE RAT MONKEY NOW?" HEE HEE HEE!
....or lizard-monkey or whatever that Star Wars creature was!!! (continued laughter here..............................)
A kindler-gentler chat room has emerged.
The Jackal appreciates the quality prediction fromn FlashG.
You called it. Portland-San Antonio in the conference finals!
But the Jackal did predict the 8th seed Knicks to pull off the upset and meet Indiana.
I thought the Jazz would step up and duplicate their efforts demonstrated against the Bulls last year. This was their year to win a title. But the Jazz tanked and will never win it all.
I'd say the Jazz fought with the heart of a champion but they have no rings...
Its too bad that Malone and Stockton's window of opportunity has been slammed shut.
They struggled against the up-and-coming Kings and were wipped by the younger-deeper and more athletic Blazers.
What's going to change in 2000 for the Jazz?
Stockton and Malone will be a year older but not a year better.
Even thought these chokers ruined my prediction I can't say I'm disappointed. A Jazz title would have sent the league the wrong message. Now teams will not be encouraged to set dirty picks and nail the opponent with elbows.
As for the Lakers. At least our superstars are in their 20's. Their championship window is wide open baby.
Hey Mailman, why don't you have a seat next to Shaq -- these Conference finals should be pretty good.
Enjoy your vacation Jazz fans!
I'm out --

Jackal,
I am sorry to break this to you, but Shaq just doesn't have what it takes to win the big one. I've been watching him since his LSU days and he is the proto-typical 90's superstar -- distracted, unpassionate, high maintenance and unproductive in a team environment. (Part of that is the NBA's fault but to elaborate is to digress....
and contrary to popular belief, I love basketball. However, the NBA is not basketball -- its entertainment to please mindless masses much like American League Baseball; again, I digress.)
