A person I know may buy some lake property that has a marina, cottages, and a barn. Inside the barn is a J2F Duck. It's been in there since 1953. The tires are flat but it's been out of the weather all these years. According to what I can find, there were about 330 of them made.
Here's the question: Where can I find out what it's worth, either as-is or fully restored? Me and my brother are thinking of making a go of it. After all, it's free. :D

A couple flew it in there in the late 40s and had it tied up to the marina when not using it. They up and disappeared in 1953, leaving the plane, and the marina owner's son towed it into the barn.

PP, three places off the bat I would check with would be EAA, Confederate AF, and the Yankee AF. I'd probably go to the Yankee AF first, but that's just because they're a half hour down the road at WillowRun AP. All three have websites with contact information. The duck is pretty rare. I think there's only one in flying shape.

Thanks for the leads. If I have my way, there will be two of them flying.

This picture is not the one discussed. I wish!
