I recieved the following request for Midway items from the museum folks.

Dear Friend of Carrier Aviation:

Restoration of the USS MIDWAY (CV-41) into a preeminent museum, public attraction, and education center is now underway. We are actively seeking relevant carrier aviation artifacts, genuine equipment, and appropriate documentation to make our presentation of this historic carrier and her aircraft as authentic, informative, and entertaining as possible.

If you or your company has any surplus equipment; technical manuals, documentation or photographs regarding flight deck operations, ordnance, avionics, surveillance gear, countermeasures, safety/survival equipment, or anything else you think may be relevant, please send a list of potential donation items to:

Attn: George Cagle
San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum
1355 North Harbor Drive
San Diego, CA 92101

Our curatorial staff will promptly review your donation offer and reply. When appropriate, we'll provide information about ownership transfer, necessary documentation, and transportation logistics, if any.

With your support, we will preserve and share the heritage of naval aviation with generations to come.

Sincerely,
Riley D. Mixson
RADM USN (Ret.)
Executive Director

So does this mean that we have to admit that we stole all that Navy stuff in the garaged/attic/basement ? My wife better not read this forum or she'll ship ALL of it to San Diego.

Greetings Midway Fans!
I have Great News! WE are down to one missing Cruise Book. Today a gentleman in San Diego on business agreed to donate a 1975 cruise book. We just need a 1949 book now. Keep beating the drums! There is one out there and all we really need is the "In Memorium" Page.
