Does anyone here watch shows like the Batchelor or For Love or Money????
I've been watching both the past few weeks - and they are probably already wrapped up in USA - cos we get everything later - but I can't help wonder how many more of these shows they can do.
Won't contestants know how to "play" the person in question after viewing a few earlier shows?
I hope Andrew Firestone ends up with Jen - she seems the nicest. And I hope that little tart Paige gets what's coming to her on Love or Money!
;)

I haven't watched the new Batchelor. I know the Firestone's. It changes your whole perspective when you know them. Kind of embarassing actually.

Hey Gop - how cool! Is Andrew as charming as he appears to be?
He is not sleazy like the other guy on For Love or Money! That guy is a shocker - I hope nobody knows him! LOL

hehehe. I thought the same thing about Rob. He gave me the creeps. Paige is too good for him. What did you mean by you hope she gets what's coming to her?
Andrew seemed like a cool guy. It would be interesting to hear Gopsdragon's response.
I could spoil it for you GB, but I won't.
Once is enough.

heheheeh Tex ! Once is definitely enough! ;)
I think Paige is manipulative and playing Rob for all she can get! She puts on this young, sweet, innocent act but I'm not buying it. I think she's a tart and I hope she falls flat on her face! I can't stand Kelly either - she thinks she's got it "in the bag" already. Erin seems nice but a little too nice - like she's got something to hide.
He is a big dork and the show is pretty weak - but yes, I will keep watching!
:hehe:
Greenbelt,
Please keep giving your opinions after each episode of the show. I find it interesting being the reality show junkie that I am.
My sister, mother, and I watch these shows and share our opinions with each other and it's fun.
I'll be interested in hearing if your opinion about Paige changes.
She does look very young....like she is about 16 or so.

You have a good point, Donkeyboy.
What is real about them is the participants' reactions to being in this strange situation. The interpersonal interactions are real and it's interesting to see how the "game" affects people mentally. Some are able to strategize while others break down.

Okay, I just watched the final Batchelor. Andrew chose Jen and I'm really glad cos I couldn't stand listening to Kirsten's nasally, whingy voice one more moment.
Jen is elegant, poised, beautiful, confident, lady-like, fun to be around and was more open and honest - he chose well and I wish them luck.
Sometimes I wonder once all the cameras are turned off, is the thrill still there for these people..... Obviously this finished in USA some time ago - has there been any follow up on Andrew and Jen? Are they still together? I assume their not married yet, cos we would have heard about that.
The Batchelorette is starting here soon when Krista - has that been on there yet. Don't tell me who she chooses!!! LOL
Now I just have to wait for the other show to play out - For Love or Money!!!

Actually I don't know him as well as his mom and dad. Mom is way cool, very proper British woman. Even though she is proper, she's not uptight. She reminds me of when people treated each other better in social settings. Frankly she's my favorite. I met them on the campaign trail because dad was my Assemblyman for awhile and I worked for the local party. The contact I had with the kids at the time was mainly with the brother.

Hey Gops, the mother did seem like a real gem - I quite liked her. I didn't think much of the brother - he seemed very uptight - the sisters (especially the one with the lighter hair) seemed lovely. I'm sure Jen will fit in fine.
Are they still together? Anyone know?

I don't get around to watching these shows, to tellthe truth I find the women competing for a man to marry them to be sexist and demeaning, there's no dam way I lower myself like that...unless perhaps the dude on the sacrificial table was Stevie Ray Vaughn..then I'd don the acrylic nails and join the cat fight  ..but he's dead so that will never happen....aaaanyway, I like the idea of the new one where the girl ends up picking between the man or the money, yeah right, what sort of dead head female would pick some dude she hardly knows over a million bux huh...unless it was me and the dude was Stevie Ray Vaughn, but he's dead so that will never happen ;).
I accidently taped the last Bachelor show, so when it came on I watched a bit of it....tragic..those women need to get real lives.
I saw Andrew and Jen having a picnic on the farm...he's sayng how she fits right in there...lol..man, she was so uncomfortable in that jeep and sat there in the grass like she was in hell....then the video ran out so I never found out what happened.
I get the idea from reading GBs post that he picked Jen...oh that will never last-no way.
greenbelt
09-18-03, 09:07 AM
Yeah BF, he did choose Jen over whatsohername! I'm still waiting to hear if they are still together. After the first Batchelor, they had a little taped chat with the couple - but I know they split early on in the piece.
6-8 weeks can be a long time in a relationship - long enough to know if you have "real" feelings for someone. Just because there are 6,7,8,9 -10 other women around, that doesn't matter! ;)
I feel the same as you basically but take out Stevie Ray Vaughn and replace him with James Reyne and I'm there. :hehe:
Tex,
I saw another ep of For Love or Money tonight. They told Robbo the Sleaze about the girls chance of winning a million - so now he's in on the secret. That little upstart Paige is still there - he booted off Lauren - but that was fine, she had no connection with him at all. I'm betting he'll eliminate Kelly next - she definitely is too bossy for him. So it will be out the ice princess Erin and the slutty 21 year old Paige.

hhhhmmmm, not sure about that GB....I've never married but I don't think you can get to know someone in that short a time enough to know who they really are, you'd still be under the influence of new love and we all know that lowers capacity to think with ones brain...however, yea, I guess it can give you enough information to decide if you could put up with that person in ya face for life. (hopefully time doesn't reveal they're a gay serial killer)
As for James Reyne...I can understand that.....I guess we all have our standards, obviously some of us set them higher than others....man, some folk will act the fool for white goods
Thanks for sharing that Gops. Sorry to hear you are in politics:nuts: ;)
In The September 22nd US Magazine issue it shows Andrew and Jen on a Merry-go-round and the caption says, "Andrew and Jen's Honeymoon Plans!
Basically, it talks about them going on a 10 day sailing trip in the British Virgin Islands and that they realized they don't want to do that for their honeymoon.
They wouldn't disclose when the wedding is going to be, but they looked very happy and still referred to them as fiancee's.
so far, so good (All my family members were happy he chose Jen)

I actually saw a snippet on one of those American news/entertainment programs yesterday about the new Batchelor (obviously we're a season behind, how unusual) and they had the first 2 batchelors (including Andrew Firestone) and he was holding hands with Jen, so they really are still together! YAY - a happy ending...... I luv that. :hehe:
A new Bachelor show started last night.
Unfortunately, I can't even tell you who the bachelor is because......
Anyway... I have seen previews for a new "Joe Millionaire" show. I can't believe they are going to repeat that crappy show.
greenbelt
09-26-03, 06:08 AM
I never watched the first Joe Millionnaire Tex - it didn't appeal.
I watched For Love or Money lastnight and Rob kicked off Kelly - which I was glad about. He knows about the money now and he's wondering about their true feelings at this point - DUH! I still can't stand Paige, she is just TOO nice, she can't be that nice - there has to be more to it than that. I think she's a really good actress. Finally Erin kissed Rob, so I have no doubts that he will choose her and I'm equally convinced that she will pick the $$$ over him, because she has never been that into him. I'm not sure if Paige would choose him over the money - maybe she would - but I don't trust her one bit.
We'll see what happens next week I guess.
Why do the losers always bag the show/guy/concept after they get voted off. Sore losers! Kelly wasn't into the whole "will he propose or won't he scenario - I couldn't stand that!" What did she enter the comp for then?
Did you watch The Bachelorette?

Hey Tex. Apparently the Bachelorette (with Krista) starts here next week, don't know if I'll watch or not - I never really did like her much... might tune in tho, just to see how it goes.
For Love or Money finished last night. Poor Rob, he got zippo! He should have chosen Paige, cos she would have chosen him over the $$$ and they both would have a healthy bank account right now, but now, he went with Erin and she thanked him for choosing the $$$. She was the only winner in this scenario. I ended up liking Paige a little towards the end, cos she didn't get hysterical when he didn't pick her - I thought she would fall in a heap but she showed good strength of character. I felt bad all round, Paige wanted him, he didn't want Paige, he wanted Erin, she didn't want him - it was all just too frustrating and too sad.
I'm swearing off reality TV for a while - except for Idol and Survivor that is!!!! LOL

Wait! Don't do it yet! The Bachelorette with Trista was really good. You should watch that one. I like it better than any of The Bachelor shows. Give it a chance GB, I think you'll like it. It's much better quality than Joe Millionaire, For Love or Money, or the stupid Mr. Personality where the guys were in masks. Watch the Trista Bachelorette show! You'll enjoy it.

I doubt you'll be whining, though.
I think it was better because we got to see all these gorgeous guys instead of a bunch of women. It was interesting to see how the guys acted with each other while in pursuit of the same girl.
They went on some awesome dates. (my lips are sealed)

OKay Tex, you asked for it. I just finished watching ep 1 of Trista on the Batchelorette. It was better than I thought it would be - but I did notice she managed to get rid of the 10 least appealing in the way of looks - and managed to keep all the totally hot guys! I suppose in so little time you have to go by attraction first up. I was glad she kept Bob the comedian. I don't like that wanker that gave her the bracelet - what a fake! One of them is extremely handsome and I fell for him straight away, don't know anyone's names yet....
You're right, that house is stunning, worth the gig just to be able to stay there for a few weeks!
She is a gorgeous woman and I hope she finds Mr Right.
:)
Without giving anything away....
I liked Bob - he difinitely has the best sense of humor out of all the guys. I thought Charlie was gorgeous. Let me know who you think is extremely handsome when you figure out his name.
Who gave her the bracelet? (When you learn his name.)
I remember someone giving her a gift, but don't remember which guy did it.

I actually caught a bit of this show last night. Trista was a good choice huh...she appears to be the perfect package.
I think there were too many men....hard to keep up with who was who. I thought Ryan was rather yummy...did he get a rose? (shit the rose thing is corny huh).
There is one guy she chose I think was cool, but can't remember his name.
If I was in her shoes the dude who gave the gift would be long gone...way too much giving a gift like that on a first meeting....sleeeeezy.
Names, people, names. :what:

Tex, Charlie is the guy I find truly handsome - and so does Trista by the way - she told him on one of the group dates he had no problems about getting a rose! Amazing, finally, someone being up front about their feelings. Is it too early to call that I'm sure he'll be the last man standing!
I didn't see the last guy she gave a rose to tonight but I was hoping she wouldn't give one to Jamie - even she said she felt that things were forced between them, so why is she bothering with him - he looks like a smiling chipmunk!!! And we all know she ain't gonna end up with Bob the comedian!
What was with the guy who left before she gave out the first rose - he obviously wasn't into her!
I didn't see all of it tonight, cos I was watching the Finale Temptation Island - 3 out of 4 couples broke up - must be a record, although one couple got back together according to the final credits. Glad that's over, now I can concentrate on Survivor and Batchelorette! Hooked again Tex. :hehe:

OK...so the batchelorette has go tme sucked in....way better than the batchelor (but should it be spinster tho?)
Agree Charlie is rather dishy....I think he'll turn out to be 'the man'.
Ryan is cute too...
My favorite still in the running is the sandy haired dude with the goatie thang....is it Brad?...he good looking and down to earth.
Shame she ditched Brooke the cowboy...I thought he was a honey...would probably have picked him myself...he had a ranch, horses and a dead sexy accent...that's do for me.
GB..the dude who left had said earlier that when he spent time alone with Trista there was no chemistry happening.
And that Jamie...I know it's not his fault he looks like a big goof...but ew...chip or dale.
The last guy she gave a rose to was the dude who she went the pash with...the one who's really pushy...yuk..I find pushy men repellant....and she even told him to back off a little..which was fair of her.
It's way more interesting to watch the men interact that it is to watch a gaggle of women primp and preen.

What did I tell ya? hehe I think you'll continue to find it interesting. Besides getting to watch all the hot men, Trista was the perfect choice for a bachelorette. She fits the profile of what a typical male is attracted to....she's pretty and skinny (a spinner), intelligent, a Miami Heat dancer, etc. She handles herself with grace and charm in the many uncomfortable situations, and the dates they get to go on are fabulous!

Anyone ever see the manhands episode of Sienfeld? Well I was watching the batchelorette and they had a close up of her face as she shed a tear or 2..then a hand reaches up to brush away the tears and wow!...she's got hands like a bloke. Weird coz she's so petite and feminine...but yep..man hands.
Anyone still watching this in Australia please check it out and tell me what you think.
Last nights episode was a bit dull..but basically I think Trista is one confused women. My pick would have been Rob (a major honey) Bob (love funny guys) Charlie & Ryan....so she picked Charlie and Ryan but also picked the pushy Russ and boring so far Greg.
I think she blew it tho...Rob was the coolest guy there for sure.
Hard to know who'll she'll latch on to from here tho....she should go for Russ..tho he's not my type at all..I'd have ditched him long ago....anyway, I think he's right for her...even tho she may end up going for Charlie..who is a dish, but totally wrong for her.

The thing that turns me off Charlie, is that he's already acting like Trista is his - like its a forgone conclusion - major turn off
Is it Ryan who write the poetry? He's acting like he write the poetry for her - about her - but he hardly knows her - it's probably stuff he's churned out for previous girlfriends. LOL
I'm so glad Jamie the Chipmunk is gone - he was such a wimp! He made my skin crawl.
I would have kept Bob too - he was such a sweetie, and not bad looking either, tall dark and handsome and FUNNY to boot! I would have kept him around for sure.
Don't think much of Russ or Greg so far.
I don't think her girlfriends helped her out much - didn't see the point. And what was with Shannon turning up - I'll bet she was in Trista's place!!!
greenbelt
11-06-03, 11:39 PM
So, it's down to Charlie and Ryan. Ryan is such a sweetie, but I think it's pretty obvious that Trista has it bad for Charlie. He is soooo handsome - and I think that will definitely get him across the line. The whole geographical thing with Ryan will ultimately cost him Trista I feel. Can't wait till next week....
So glad she got rid of Russ - what a pig he turned out to be. He was so possessive, I didn't like him from the start, giving her a bracelet the moment they met - YUK.
I heard the other day that Bob (funny Bob) is going to be the next Batchelor! That would be so cool for him. Seeing him last night on the Reunion show, he looked so gorgeous. Apparently he had put on weight due to a sports injury and has now lost 16kgs and is better than ever - not that I minded him beforehand! He is one cool dude, so charming and cute. I wouldn't mind being his batchelorette!
So, I'm guessing that Trista picks Charlie next week and I'll feel bad for Ryan, but I think with those big doe eyes of his, he won't be alone for long!!!
Oh, that Brook was a prick last night too, calling her shallow! What the hell was he there for???
bearfoot
11-07-03, 03:37 AM
I only saw a bit of that show last night.....but if you'll excuse me for being shallow....that Rob dude is gorgeous.
And I totally agree with Brook....Trista is shallow. I liked her at the start but am tired of the sound of her fake 'mcdondals salesgirl' voice.....the sing song 'hi how are you' thing she does...I think she's totally phoney and hasn't got a clue who the hell she is..the woman is miles of ready to be married...she needs alot more living and learning and a whole heap of self insight first.
Ryan has himself convinced he's in love and he is gorgeous..but she'd ditch him before long so I hope she doesn't pick him.
She'll pick Charlie..she's had a crush on him right from the start....it won't last and he'll dump her.
Yep..GB..Bob is a honey....out of all of them he'd be my pick....love guys who can make me laugh....I'm totally gone if a guy can make me snort laugh ......and Bobs got those dimples and a killer smile..that'd do me.....yeah..she blew it.
I think she was shallow...she picked the 2 male modle type guys...she didn't go for personality or style at all....if she went for personality she'd have picked Bob or Rob. Plus she flicked off the guys who didn't grovel at at her feet...like Jamie, Brook & Russ..they dared to voice an opinon instead of just admiring her.
Hope Bob is the next Batchelor...I'll watch it for sure.

I try not to judge these people too much cos I have no idea how I would react given the same circumstances, I appreciate it must be very difficult. I'm glad she stood up for herself re: the double standard crap and I'm very jealous, she got to sleep with both Ryan and Charlie!!! I wouldn't have slept with Russ either. YUK.
I don't like Rob much, he's not my type at all I'm afraid. I thought Jamie had chipmunk qualities. LOL Not many of the others did anything for me - apart from cutie pie Bob, and yep, a guy that makes you laugh, he'd be my pick for sure.
I think Trista and Charlie look very good together but I hope there is more substance to their relationship. Ryan is too sweet for Trista, he won't ever leave his life as a firie in his hometown either, so I don't think there will be a question of who she picks. I'll watch it next week all the same. It will be interesting to see and meet her family with the guys next week, before she decides.
It may give us more insight into Trista Rehn. :)

Yes, I've seen the hilarious "manhands" episode of Seinfeld and fondly referenced it from time to time. I never noticed that Trista had manhands, but I did notice someone else with them tonight. I was watching Austin City Limits on TV and Tracey Chapman was performing. THAT chick has Manhands!

All along this whole journey she has been putting signals out to Charlie like you would not believe, even he was convinced that he was "the one"!
After meeting her family, it was so obvious that they were rooting for Charlie....
I am in total shock. I did not see that coming one bit! I'm happy for Trista and Ryan and I think he's an absolute doll - but Charlie is dream-worthy and I really thought there was no contest!

GB....you're right about Charlie, she obviously adored him....she wanted it to be him..but it just wasn't. Tho he had everything going for him he never laid his feeligs on the line...Ryan did.......she would have been an idiot to choose Charlie...he's a great guy and gorgeous too but Ryan is deep and sensative...men in touch with their feelings are rare.....I'd have picked him too.
I realised she would pick Ryan on the last date when she said she could totally relax with him......that's the best thing when you're in love, being with someone who you can really be yourself with.
It was awful when she told Charlie tho.
To my suprise when Ryan asked her to marry him I burst into tears.....how fucked up is that huh....lmao..what a big sook huh. Anyway, I thought it was dam beautiful and I hope they live happily ever after.

I've been thinking about it today BF. I remember her saying, and someone in her family said it too, that Charlie was so much like the other guys she had previously dated and that is why they thought he was well suited to Trista, but the more I thought about it - maybe that's the exact reason she DIDN'T pick him - obviously all the others didn't work out for her, maybe that's why she went against the grain and chose Ryan.
You are right, he really did open up to her and even though she couldn't reciprocate and let him know her feelings, it didn't make him hold back and he really laid it out for her.
I wish them luck too.

So Tex, how long ago did the Bacherlorette air there - I'm trying to figure out how long their engagement was if the wedding is in a couple of weeks.
Ryan did say he didn't like long engagements.
Oh, and do we know if Trista moved to his hometown or has Ryan moved?
GB,
I have no idea how long it's been since it aired. sorry. They were on the American Music Awards tonight. There were a few shots of them in the audience and then they also went on stage to announce a performer, Toby Keith. It seems they said the wedding will be aired next month. I thought it was sooner than that, but I must have been mistaken.
I have to cross threads here because I am avoiding the Idol thread so I don't spoil it for myself. Our 1st and 2nd place winners from American Idol II performed. Our 2nd place winner, Clay Aiken, won an American Music Award tonight! He was the Fan Choice winner. I'm very excited for him!

Tex, I actually read an article today about Trista and Ryan - and I think the wedding is sooner than that - at least they made it sound sooner in the article, like it was pending really soon. It covers a 3 day event leading up to the wedding. I hope they show it here too.... so we can all have a good cry, hey BF! :)
Two more days Tex, final taping of the finale and then they're on their way!!!!

Hey Tex, just wanted to let you know that Batchelor Bob starts here next week! YAY.
There is also talk of Trista and Ryan's wedding being telecast here in December, so not that far off. I can't wait. Trista has said that the public has doubts about their relationship, because they're being paid like $1m for the wedding rights - but like she said, who cares, they'll still love each other and that's all that matters. Good for them.
Can't wait for Bob. :)
I saw the first episode of "Trista and Ryan's Wedding". It was interesting. They get a celebrity wedding with ABC's pocketbook. I think it ends up being a 4 million dollar wedding.
The platinum and diamond, custom-made shoes is a bit over the top.

Tex, the first instalment of Bob Bachelor is on tonight - and to be followed by Part 1 of Trista and Ryan..... YAY
I'll let you know what I think.

Okay Tex. I think Bob is one hell of a spunk - but I'm seriously doubting he'll find everlasting love on this show. Honestly, that bunch of women - not one of them had a spark that I saw in the first ep. That Lee-Anne I think it was, what a wussy little thing she was - crying to the mother that she didn't get a chance to spend time with Bob - I was just cringing. And the one that fell apart at the end after not getting a rose - GET A LIFE! The twins looked pissed off at not getting selected, but I think he made a wise choice - he knew he could never have both and it seemed reasonable to go with neither. I was disappointed he didn't give Shea a rose, and then I thought - what the chances of both Trista and Bob both choosing a firie for the final rose??? I can't remember her name, but the chick in the blue dress - I want her gone with a passion - she is so aggressive and so fake - I don't imagine her with Bob at all.
I'll be waiting to see how it all unfolds..... stayed tuned.
Oh, Trista and Ryan's show.... mmmm, jury's still out on that one. I feel sorry for Trista's family - they don't get a look in at all, come to think of it, neither does Ryan . bloody pink everywhere! YUK.
I'm sure it will be a very glam wedding and I hope it lasts, but I do feel sceptical at this point.
hmmm. The editors must have done a good job because several people I talked to (and me) were terribly dissappointed that he didn't keep the firewoman around. What is PC? A girl fireman? A female fire fighter? Anyway, we were all disappointed that she was gone at the first rose ceremony.
Let's not forget the girl in the blue dress! You must be talking about Kelly Jo. We also had similar feelings/opinions about her.
Cute as pie, but very aggressive indeed. I will be looking forward to you future opinions. :)
As far as Trista and Ryan's wedding, I am surprised that you are pretty current with us. That's great! We saw episode 2 (out of 3) last night and it was pretty painful to watch. We can discuss that after you've seen it. I expect the 3rd show will be much better.

Hey Tex. Firstly, that 2nd ep of Trist and Ryan was pathetic. I mean, most of his guests didn't want to be around the strippers - what's up with that? Were they all gay? Just because you're married or involved doesn't mean your significant other expects you not to look - it's not like they had to touch or sleep with the strippers. Ryan was such a sook - I think he must have drunk too much. And his friend, the obnoxious one! UGH - who would have him as a friend.
Was this all taped and done after Bob's Bachelor, cause I see he didnt have a date for the wedding proceedings - I suppose he couldn't ruin the show if that were the case.
I expect the wedding will be gorgeous!
Now, onto Bob. What is with Leanne - she was all over him - I thought she was all quiet and innocent in the first ep - then she practically jumped his bones! and then he left her till last to choose her to stay - was he sending her a message? How old is Bob? He looks to be going after the more mature women, Estella and Mary in particular and they probably seem betted suited for him. Has the show finished in your neck of the woods? Were you happy with his choice?
He's certainly getting a lot of kissing action isn't he? And what is up with 2 dumping ceremonies - someone on a date has to go - that sux big time!
Hey, with Survivor finishing this week (we're getting eps on Sund and Mond) - what will I do with my Monday nights? I hope they show the Survivor special here - do you know when that is on?
The Survivor finale for us is 3 days from now, on Sunday night.
I want to make my predictions, but I'll do that in the Surviror thread so, beware. I'll keep listening for some more Bachelor talk and interject when I think I should.
Disappearing now....>>>>>

Hey Tex. Just watched Bachelor Bob again - I'm not liking it as much now - he seems to be just making out with everyone, which depicts him as a bit sleazy to my eye. I dislike Leanne very much, please tell me she's not who he chooses. It was sad that Meredith's granny died.... at least she had a nice date with Bob tho. It was a bit de ja vu with John on Survivor playing that cruel trick.....
The wedding didn't hold my attention - it was too long winded and got boring towards the end and there was sooooooo much pink.... She looked gorgeous and he looked fabulous. I guess if I had $4m to spend on a wedding, I would hope it looked that gorgeous but I turned off before the main vows were exchanged, cos the bloody helicopters got on my nerves.
I hope they live happily ever after.

Okay, Bob is down to 3 - having let Meredith go last night. My money is on Kelly Jo - but I wouldn't be disappointed if he chose Estella - I really like her.
I think Mary is a little too old - she talks about having lots of kids with Bob - how many does she think she can pop out before it's too late - she's bloody 36 now! He looked uncomfortable around her family - I guess the language barrier made an impact.
Estella's mum was delightful and it was obvious that the two of them were really close.
Kelly Jo's family were great and Bob seemed very much as ease with them. She is a little on the young side which makes me think maybe he should go for Estella - and that could leave Kelly Jo to be the new bachelorette - with younger guys looking out for her.
Between Meredith's granny dying, and Kelly Jo constantly referring to her dead father - it all gets rather bleak at times. Bob is such an UP guy, he needs fun.
Only 2 weeks to go.

Haven't gotten into the Batchelor...I see the ads and it looks like good ole Bob is a bit of an 'anybodys'..would be surprised if true loves comes of this show.
Missed Trista & Ryans wedding...saw some of the lead up shows and just couldn't deal with the bullshit.....was she for real???all that pink shit....surely the wedding day isn't that important, the dress the flowers the fucking invitations..what a boring hassle I reckon..my idea of a nightmare....I just don't get it. It's a bit of a worry that she was so happy with the wedding plans and oblivious to the fact he was totally miserable. Good luck to them tho.
Looking forward to allstar Survivor...have you guys got it over there? Richard Hatch is one of my favorites.

Tex. Bachelor Bob kicked Mary off last night. Awwww (but I knew the age/ticking clock would get to him)
So that leaves Estella and Kelly Jo. I can see him with either of them but I think I'm gonna go for Kelly Jo. She's younger, feistier and I don't think our Bob is ready to settle (way) down just yet. He wants to have fun and with her only being 23, I think she could have fun for quite a while .....
I felt sorry for Mary but like he said, it wouldn't have been fair to her if he felt that way about having kids.
So, I already know that Meredith is the new Bacherlorette - they announced that here this week. It begins filming quite soon apparently. She isn't as outgoing as Trista was - I'm wondering what kind of guys Meredith will attract - but I'll bet they're handsome. I never understand how all these gorgeous woman and handsome men can't find themselves a partner!
So next week (Mon) we get the reunion - which will be interesting with Lee Ann having to defend herself LOL and then on the Wed. we get the 2 hour finale and see who Bobby picks.
Can't wait.
:)
Oh, and I don't like that they get to sleep with 3 people in the space of a few days - it just doesn't seem right.... They all do it but I don't know that it's necessary. What do you think?
Do they sleep together or just sleep......together?? Who knows?
Bob chooses _____________. hehehehe
I wouldn't dare spoil it for you!!
I'm glad you know Meridith is the next bachelorette. Does that mean you are going to be more on schedule with us on that show as well? When does Survivor all-stars start in Oz? It starts right after the SuperBowl here which is the beginning of February.

All-Star Survivor is being telecast in Feb. but I don't know the exact date as yet.
Bachelor Bob chooses his bride tonight! They had the reunion show a couple of nights ago - that was funny - with Lee Ann saying she didn't think she was that aggressive!
Mary showed a lot of poise and Meredith still seemed broken hearted after losing Bob.
I'm gonna guess that Bob picks Estella - but I really don't mind who he picks, they both seem like great gals.
I'll report back after I see the show and see if I'm right or not!
:D
Well, how did you like the outcome???

01-21-04, 05:45 AM
Well in the end I was right, he picked Estella - although I wasn't totally convinced he made the right decision.
I thought Bob's family feel head over heels for Estella and that was probably what made Bob choose her in the end.... although they seemed to like KJ as well, although his mum didn't praise her nearly as much as Estella.... I knew they were all leaning towards Estella.
I thought Estella had ruined her chances when she got all clingy on Bob on their final night.... wanting answers but afraid to hear them. Whereas KJ was so confident and truly believed it was gonna be her, and I thought that confidence might spark Bob into a realisation that maybe she was the one for him.... but it went the other way - so who am I to judge. LOL
I'm glad he didn't propose, because it was very evident that he wasn't ready for that committment and I hope to hear good things about them in time to come.... and a wedding some time down the track.
Good luck to them both.
Bad luck KJ. :(

hhhmmm..only saw the first and the Batchelor....my choice for him on the first show was Estella....tho at the end his interest in her was rather lacking in passion...she seemed to be looking for an intense sort of 'soul connection' that appeared not to be there for him........but who can really tell anyway, must be difficult to put it all out there on tv.
I feel sorry for the one who gets rejected..man it a harsh ending for them.
I'm planning to check out the new one starting next week....I think it's called Joe Shmoe....where the attractive girl (who says looks aren't important) meets a bunch of extremely ordinary looking blokes. Should be good for a laugh...the men should be much more real than the goobers on Bachelorette.

I agree BF - it should be worth checking out. Is one of the "uglies" supposed to be a multi-millionnaire or something? Is that the angle this show is to have?

Sounds like you're hooked again SB! Watch out - it's all downhill from here....
I've been sucked back into Neighbours too - don't know why really! It's one of those shows I can watch while I'm cooking dinner and don't have to concentrate on it!

Strangeboy..these shows are only good for their curiosity value...they drag it out the max which is annoying too.
They should have a gay Batchelor & Batchelorette too...do you reckon you'd watch it?

Maybe these shows wouldn't appear soooo lame to others if the couples involved actually stayed together for a good period of time afterwards.
It is official, Bob and Estella have split - they lasted barely a month. So much for soulmates and all that other crap they go on with!
I hope Trista and Ryan's marriage lasts but I won't hold my breath.

They should. That's just what we need is more TV geared to 10% of the population. ;)

One report said "later this year" - one report said February - so who knows. I suppose it depends on when it can be slotted in to the line-up on that channel. I'll let you know.
Any good lookers in Meredith's batch???? Anyone I should keep an eye out for?
I have my eye on a couple of them. I need to sit down and watch the episode I taped. I tend to have the TV on, but get involved with other things...usually the computer. I'll report back as soon as I have more detailed info. :)
