It was cool because there wasn't anyone else on board yet so I got to talk to them for quite a while. The flight ending up getting cancelling, and they tooked a private jet while I was stuck trying to re-book. Yep. Sonny's been the head for decades, although for legal reasons, he's not right now. ;)
I met him the summer of 71. It was at a Der Wienerschnitzel and for some reason, he told everyone around I was his nephew. Boy, did that make things weird! People I didn't even know would act condescending around me. Then again, I didn't really mind...LOL

Willie Nelson cited for pot, mushrooms

POSTED: 3:08 p.m. EDT, September 18, 2006
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (AP) -- Willie Nelson and four others were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana after a traffic stop Monday morning on a Louisiana highway, state police said.

The citations were issued after a commercial vehicle inspection of the country music star's tour bus, state police said in a news release.

"When the door was opened and the trooper began to speak to the driver, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana," the news release said.

A search of the bus produced 11/2 pounds of marijuana and 0.2 pounds of narcotic mushrooms, according to state police.

A call to Nelson's publicist wasn't immediately returned.

Also cited were Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Florida; Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, of Austin, Texas; and David Anderson, 50, of Dallas, Texas.

Each was released after being issued a citation.

Nelson, 73, has recorded songs including "On the Road Again" and "City of New Orleans."

On May 10, 1994, Willie was arrested for marijuana possession when a police officer found a joint in his ashtray during an illegal search of his car. He faced six months in jail and a $2,000 fine.

and on my birthday.......

The judge agreed that police had no business searching Willie's car. He threw out the evidence and, on March 23, 1995, he dropped the case entirely.

Clemens signs with Yankees
comments (0)
by Stop Mike Lupica on May 6 at 3:39PM

According to the NY Post, Roger Clemens has agreed to terms with the Yankees on a contract for this season, worth about $20-24 million (pro-rated).

We'll get into the Yankees more tomorrow during our AL East review, but for all those who might have thought they were finished after their terrible April, this last week would seem to indicate that they are just getting going. Between the young pitchers putting on a show (Phil Hughes 6 2/3 no-hitter, Wangs 7 1/3 perfect game), the return of Clemens, Pettite's strong outing, and Mussina, the Yankees have pretty much established that they will have the best pitching rotation (1-5) in baseball for the rest of the season, starting in June. Clemens will need three weeks to get into shape, so expect him ready on June 1st. Similarly, Phil Hughes' hamstring injury is pretty minor (a grade 2 strain, not a "tear", or even a pull), so while the Yankees might take their time bringing him back, he could be ready as early as June 1st, too.

Essentially the Yankees have decided that Carl Pavano and Kei Igawa are not going to allowed to play a large part in this season unless something comes up. It's probably a good plan.

Update: Clemens announced his decision live to the Yankee Stadium crowd during the 7th inning stretch of today's game, via a microphone from the owner's box. The Yankees sure know how to make sh*t exciting....

More thoughts on the AL East to come tomorrow... here's what Clemens was doing last week - coaching 1st base in little league games, and probably getting tired of hearing the belittling chants of "Mr. Clemens, I have your foul ball..." from fans:

So last week I went out to San Diego on the job and in the process I met Charles Dutton in BWI and he was on our flight to Philly. Then on the way back to BWI I stayed over in Vegas and Ron Jeremy was on our flight to Philly. That dude is one scruffy cat! and he looks like he is the poorest person alive. Sorry Sti no autographs from either guy.

ok.. is this a midlife crisis or second childhood?

haveing fun with my kids is more like it ...I took my son and two of his friends to the skate park last night for an hour.....I have coached both of my sons baseball teams....play tennis with my oldest son, camping and just got back from south padre with the gang for a week.....as far as the skateboarding I have met some cool people my age that skate and have kids.....a friend and myself are taking our boys to Houston the 3 weekend this month and do a two day skate trip to hit the new 2mill park there and also skate the new park in Galveston...also it is good exercise and have lost a little weight....and man I wish my dad would have even come to my baseball games when I was a kid (he made one game once) let alone take my buds and me skateboarding let alone skate with us.....so no crisis.....now if I get a viper or buy a motorcycle :Poke: then we can talk hahahaha.......

and they also had a killer motocross demo check it out....

Now, to get this thread back on track I offer you this. My trip to LA had several good celeb spottings. Meredeth Baxter, Ellen Page, Michelle Tractenberg, Juliette Lewis, and as previously mentioned, Sinbad. But none can match this one. While eating at the In-and-Out Burger on Sunset I spotted the Carl Ballentine. Also known as the Amazing Ballentine. And also known as Torpedos Mate Lester Gruber of TV's McHales Navy. He's 85 now. I would have gotten a picture, but I will never pester a celeb in a restaurant while they are eating. So try to top that!

well sti.... i was teasing... you are very active with your boys... and that's a very good thing... my mom and dad made ALL my brothers games... and i made ALL my girls...unless i was bleeding to death..
even now, my single girls want me to go out to clubs with them, but i'm not into the club scene...lol
and i do think it keeps us from getting old before our time...but to reap the benefits in your older years, make sure you keep the little girl close to you as well, and she will always be a "daddys girl". and that's a VERY good thing..
my dad and i talk on the phone every night....he says he can't go a day without talking to his baby girl....
(i keep telling my brother that i'm loved more, and he tells me i'm adopted... )
