So, what does everyone think of Powell's split with the Whitehouse? It's not very often one see's this kind of dissension. Should Powell be sent over to Guantonimo Bay to hang out with the Al Qeida boys?

Hmmm.. just thought of something... wasn't it Cheney who halted Powell and Schwartzkopf from finishing of Saddam in Desert Storm?

The admin's going to have to be very careful with this one, since Powell has the confidence of a lot of the center-leaning Republicans and Democrats. They will either have to woo him back or convincingly demonize him to the public sometime before they boys hit the campaign trail in '04.

I personally have a lot more confidence in Mr. Powell than in Mr. Bush (even if I'm less than thrilled with his son). Of course, I have a lot more confidence in the intelligence and political accumen of a paper clip than I do in Mr. Bush, so I guess that isn't saying a lot.

Imagine that: a closed minded, mean spirited, intolerant, racist, bible verse spoutin', Republican President hiring a free thinker, someone who does not agree with him on every issue, or at least can’t keep his mouth shut when he doesn’t. Hillary, Daschle, Gephart, or Kennedy would never tolerate that "disloyalty". Remember Liberman’s sudden reversal on a huge list of issues not in lock-step with Gore’s ultra-liberal positions?

Yes, but what do you 'think' of the split? http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

Its not a split; Bush is confident enough to give his advisors authority, and Powell is confident enough to exercise it.

Yeah, i think you got something there. The Whitehouse hasn't had a kneejerk reaction towards Powell and I gotz to give them kudos for that.

I wonder if anyone else has Powell's cajones. You just got to like the guy.

Oh yeah, I like Bush just fine if he was like my drinkin partner. I have to admit he does a great job as a figurehead too!

I also like Bush's wild daughter. I'd like to get drunk with her too.

Jenna's a babe, no doubt.

But W is more than a "figurehead". He is the most important leader this country has had in a real long time, and will go down in history as one of our truly great presidents.
