View Full Version : What is Evil . . (revisted)
First of all I'd like to say that generalisations (sp?) are the hallmark of a shallow brain. Study, research and true contemplation is anathema to such an unevolved cortex. It goes against the grain. Next . . .
Everything is relative ..... like it or not.
Thirdly, and it's just my opinion ( but I happen to agree with it ) , evil is hate. And the opposite of hate is not love but indifference. Apathy needs kicks. That's where cruelty comes in.
Fact is okay. But a generalization made by a person is typically interchangeable with "opinion." I disagree that people who generalize are shallow. In fact, the defination of a generalization is the act or process whereby a response is made to a stimulus similar to but not identical with a reference stimulus.
I may not provide fact, statistics, or objective data every time I make a statement, but I don't believe I have to. If I'm merely verbalizing an opinion, then so be it.
Indifference has nothing to do with hate. Feeling uncertain, detached, or impartial doesn't mean I detest, despise, or loathe something/someone.
