I saw that too! I think the Hornet is one of the greatest things that's happened to Naval aviation. The multi-role eliminates allot of hassles. Congrats on VFA-115. I'm tickled to recognize a squadron these days. I wonder if their line shack still has the coldest sodas!
Man, that reminded me of a story about "the fridge".
Dylumph's right. We had the coldest pops on the ship and burned through those mini fridges like no one's business. We'd always pick up a discarded one from a gomen pile off base so there was never a shortage.
During an in-port period at Cubi Point my airframe's troubleshooter managed to get a big bag of raw scallops for fishing bait that he stuck in the fridge. Of course, that was the last he saw of it because he was too busy partying to go fishing.
After five days in-port we pull out and start flight ops that afternoon. After the first launch someone (can't remember which poor bastard it was) opened the fridge to get a pop. He immediately power puked. We didn't know it but the power had been shut off to our line shack for several days during the in-port. We had to evacuate the line shack and it took awhile for the air to clear enough for us to venture back in.
We wrapped tiedown chains around it and locked them so no one would open the "fridge". Later that night, when the coast was clear we carried it to the cat walk and heaved it over the side hoping the watch wouldn't see the splash and call a man overboard.
Needless to say we had to go elsewhere for cold pops for the rest of that cruise. We were tempted to wrap the troubleshooter up with chains and send him after the "fridge". LOL
