View Full Version : What's the latest gouge?
So, how is everyone doing? Everybody wishing they were on the Kitty Hawk or back in CAG5? Sure wish I was with VFA-115 on the Lincoln. Guess they're heading back home now. Can you imagine what they're first liberty call's going to be like? :laugh:http://bushwhacked.net/forum/images/smilies/beerchug.gifhttp://bushwhacked.net/forum/images/smilies/smiley-kots.gif
Well, I'm just trying to get the new website squared away. There's still some links that are broke and I have some new photos and stuff to add. Don't everyone be shy. :OOPS: This is a forum catagory for everyone to just say hi and shoot some BS. Looking forward to hearing from everyone and how many plan on checking out the ship when she get's to San Diego. Carry On.

That's the custom user test. It changes when you reach post milestones, i.e 10, 20, 50, 100, .. etc.. You can edit it in the user control panel under "edit profile" after you've reached 100 posts..... so get posting! :laugh:

I ROCK! I play junk from my day. 60s & 70s. I used to play at the Blow-Up club in Olongopo. I love it though I play more guitar now. My band looks like a bunch of rockin' Paw Paws! We don't care! You can't stop time, but you can stop rockin'! Thats not my plan. It keeps me young.
Just saw Bush's speech from the Lincoln. He had a VFA-115 Hornet behind him. Yea baby! ;)

I saw that too! I think the Hornet is one of the greatest things thats happened to Naval aviation. The multi-role eliminates alot of hassels. Congrats on VFA-115. I'm tickled to reconise a squadron these days. I wonder if their line shack still has the coldest sodas!
i missed the speach from president bush... but, now that i know one of the 115 birds was behind him, i will try to find it on the net.
Bodean, welcome to the forum!
I have pics of the Prez's visit here. (http://bushwhacked.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4581)

I struggle to keep my politics in the middle. When they bitched about Bushs visit to the ship, I krienged. Of all the stuff he does I thought that ranked high. I guess we would understand how good it must have felt to be appreciated!
When I served on the Midway, I thought we were forgotten sailors doin time in Japan. I was young. When I left for a east coast phantom squadron, I realized how important the Midway was. We were the front line! I thought (while watching Bush on that ship) about us and what that could've meant to us.
Oh yeah, I forgot we had Hanoi Jane come by and appologize for something we didn't deserve. What a bitch! Suppose it did boost moral when we all hollarded for her to "show us her tits!".
The Bush trip to the Lincoln didn't bother me. I thought it was great. In fact he should have told the Secret Service squirrels to piss off and take a Hornet instead of Miss Piggy.
When you consider the money wasted in all fuel that gets dumped before planes trap, the cost his trip wasn't squat. Besides, you're right about the crew appreciating it. I would have loved it if Ronnie trapped on the Midway when I was aboard. :)

I caught some of his speech on Al Jazeera between watches. It was pretty good even with the parts that they cut out. Between watches you say ? yeah, I was stupid enough to stay in the reserves long enough to get my dumb ass recalled to active duty and sent to the UAE since last December. I tell ya, Gonzo Station was never like this. If you think mail was bad on Gonzo, I got a letter from my wife yesterday that was mailed in MARCH !!! And my XO says there's nothing wrong with that. Sorry to rant but we're 3 months past our relief date and the powers that be still haven't figured out who's coming to relieve us. I miss the Midway. Ok so we knew we were deployng every year but at least you could plan on it ! LOL ! Anyway, the site has a great new look and I'm looking forward to catching up with lots of shipmates next year in San Diego

How did you guy's like the photo of Hanoi Jane and John Kerry sitting about two seats apart at one of the Rallies ---actually after she did her famous act in Hanoi I was working for one of the large airlines when she came down the isle -she had tried to disguise her self by scrubbing off all the make up but you could still tell who she was ,but let me tell you that with out all that putty that womans skin looks like a scalded pigs behind ,

:laugh: I see a photoshop opportunity. :)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I thought I had heard that there were two Kerry / Fonda photos floating around and that one was a fake. .....
Well, I'll answer my own question. Yes, it looks like one was a fake;
http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/kerry2.asp
and one was real;
http://www.snopes.com/photos/politics/kerry.asp
As for how I feel about the two of them I look at it this way. Fonda did what she did because she thought it was right. Kerry did what he did because he thought it was right for his political career. Fonda has apoligized, Kerry has not. I disagree with what both of them did and think both did a lot of harm. I'll at least give props to Jane for admitting her mistake. I don't have a lot of room for forgiving Kerry because no matter what he says or does I'll always suspect that it's politically motivated.
