Does anyone here have any experience with an Oreck XL vacuum cleaner? Recomendations? Good, bad, or whatever, I would appreciate any input. Thanks.
It doesn't some standard with your Dodge Stratus? :hehe:

Funny you should mention that, as I'm in the market to buy a new vacumn cleaner myself (after mine started smoking yesterday.) Eureka sucks shit. I've had no personal experience with the Oreck, but have seen commericals, and it looks as though it MIGHT work decent enough.
Looks like I'm gonna go for the "Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum With HEPA Filter" on sale at Wally World for a mere $198.83.

No experience with Oreck, but don't they have some kind of great guarantee? If it sucks (pun intended) then you can return it or something?
We have a Dirt Devil bagless... that thing SUCKS! (in a good way!)
I can't believe how much dirt/dog hair/etc we suck up in that thing! It's amazing to see it in the clear collection unit!
Get a bagless vc if you can....
I have 3 cats. I need one that just royally sucks. ;)
Shotglass and Laurie, What did you end up getting and how do you like it? We're in the market for a new vacuum and would like to hear what your experience is with your new vacuums if you got a new one.
Haven't yet gotten my new one yet.
But here is the one I'm looking at (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?cat=4047&dept=4044&product_id=1166877&path=0%3A4044%3A4047%3A90448%3A4767)
Thanks Laurie. Man, talk about choices! We looked at a few at Best Buy. They examples for all thier vacuums unboxed so you can get a feel for them. We liked the Hoovers and Dirt Devils best. Now I'm reading reviews to try and decide on one. :what:
Hoover and Dirt Devils are pretty good all around. Don't ever, and I repeat, dont' EVER, buy a Eureka! THEY DON'T SUCK! ;)
No need to tell me that. I already know it. In fact, it desn't suck...it BLOWS!!!!!!

Which, given the context here might be bad, but, well, you know. ;)

We finally wound up with the Hoover Wind Tunnel Vortex2, with the attachments and stuff. It's heavier than the old Dirt Devil, but the bagless thing is nice. The HEPA filter is 20 bucks when it has to be replaced, but that's still cheaper than bags and parts for an Oreck.
Oreck is like a Compaq. You have to buy their parts at their prices, and they aren't cheap.
Overall the new vacuum is good.

Hey, you get tired of running the vacuum over the same clump of dog fur and it doesn't pick it up.
Thanks Shotty. Laurie's looking at a WindTunnel too.
