About every two weeks a new game will be posted in the "Time Wasting As Art" section of the Bressler.org Forum. For a preview of the type of games that might be used, visit the Bressler.org Time-Wasters page:
http://bressler.org/links_type.asp?LTID=18
Each game will have it's own thread. Screenshots of high scores will be posted to this thread. The game will close in about two weeks.
They will not always be the funnest games, they may in fact be tedious on occassion, but we will endeavor to reflect not just speed, but endurance, strategy, intelligence... and luck through the variety of games presented. So you might like and some you wont, but someone else may take advantage of that... which is what we like to see.
Games will always be the web-based versions unless specified otherwise. Scores from downloaded versions will not count unless explicitly allowed in the specific game thread.
The top five finishers, as evidenced by posting a non-altered, non-pilfered screen capture, will score points towards the 2003 Bressler.org Gaming Championship.
1st Place - 10 Points
2nd Place - 6.5 Points
3rd Place - 4 Points
4th Place - 2.5 Points
5th Place - 1.5 Points
(Points are set so that three 2nd place finishes are not quite equal to two 1st place finishes, etc)
Each first place finisher will also get 2 points toward the overall Forum Championship, details of which are coming soon...
The top three Forum members with the most points accumulated will have medals under their avatar that indicates standing.
The overall winner for 2003 will retain a Gaming Champion medal for all of the next year.
This relies a lot on the honor system. If anyone is ever determined to be:
* cheating
* using macros or other programs that do the work for you
* altering scoring screenshots
* using someone else's screenshots
...they will be stripped of all medals and not allowed to compete for the remainder of the year.
