View Full Version : Movies You've Watched A Million Times

What are movies that you've watched DOZENS of times.

Movies that you watch so often, that sometimes you turn them strictly for background while you're doing something else.

They are NOT necessarily you're favorite movies, but could be. They are generally chockfull of great moments, but not necessarily great films.

For me:

"Star Wars IV, V, VI": I'd say more of 'Empire Strikes Back' than any of them just for the Vader footage and sometimes I like to root for the bad guys. I have several copies of all of these. I don't think I'll ever bother to buy I and II.

"Matrix": Best Cyber Fiction movie to date. Own VCR and DVD versions.

"Animal House": Best college movie there ever will be. Best Belushi there ever will be. Own VCR and DVD versions. Ramis.

"Stripes": Murray. Ramis.

"Caddyshack": Murray. Ramis.

"Bull Durham": Best film Costner will ever be in, except arguably "The Untouchables" which is only good because of Connery. Made when baseball still mattered. Made before Roth and Sarandon became intolerable. Funny shit, exudes charm.

"Breakfast At Tiffany's": Buffy loves this one and it's always sitting in or near the VCR in the bedroom. It used to be that if I had no patience for the morning news, or if I was folding clothes, vacuuming or what have you, I would throw it in and let it run out.

"When Harry Met Sally": Another of Buffy's movies.

"Willie Wonka and the Chocalate Factory": See other thread.

"Apocalypse Now": See other thread.

Army of Darkness- This movie was played at least 4 times a week while underway in our berthing on my ship in the Navy. I probably watched it at least 2 of those times each week.
"Hail to the king, baby."

Clerks- Another Navy movie. Funny how this movie is even funnier when you watch it with a bunch of guys.
37! You've sucked 37 dicks?!

Better off dead, "Grosse Pointe Blank", High Fidelity", "Say Anything",etc. see a common theme?

Real Genius- a classic!
"Would you be prepared if gravity reversed itself?"

Weird Science- another good one.
"Mom, I never toss off to anything!"

Then there are the movies I have seen by defualt, i.e. my wife's fav's that she watches over and over...

Father of the Bride1 and 2, Dirty Dancing, Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles...

The Crow--the soundtrack for this one is awesome! My kinda love story!

Meet The Parents-- funny funny!

Star Trek--Favorite is Wrath of Khan, but I truely love them all.

An overlooked addition...

It's seasonal, but I've probably watched it more times than anything but the Star Wars movies and that is "A Christmas Story"...

You'll shoot your eye out..

Shawshank Redemption- Morgan Freeman rules.

Steel Magnolias- I cry every time, even after watching it a gazillion times.

Con-Air- I'm secretly in love with Nicolas Cage and he sports a long-haired do in this one (yummy!)

Aladdin- Nobody does a genie better than Robin Williams.

Fargo- 2 words --------> Steve Buschemi

Dumb & Dumber- It's so dumb, it's hysterical

Sleepless in Seattle and Harry Met Sally- Best romantic comedies out there.

(With Barb on the Jurassic Park movies)- Watched #3 again last night for the 100th time (love those Raptors.)

A Few Good Men- Because I can handle the truth.

Bridges of Madison County- 2 more words ------> Meryl Streep

(With Barb again on Meet the Parents)- Love the airport scene at the end of the movie (Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb) ;)

I just watched "When We Were Soldiers", and it's got to be the most realistic Vietnam War era movie I've seen to date. I am buying this when I get home, and I'll be watching it many, many times.

Don’t consider yourself old. Instead, like a fine wine that improves with time! ;)

I love “Space Cowboys”. I just watched it again last week. They couldn’t have picked a better cast. :)

:hehe: I love the scene when they were getting their physical and the nurse walks in. Everyone but Sutherland clamer to hide their privates, but Sutherland stands there with his hands behind his back and says with a smile "Hi there!". Classic moment.
