View Full Version : A New Year

Does anyone have any New Year's resolutions? Or plan on doing anything special in the coming New Year?

I, for one, am hoping to quit smoking, which means I'll gain weight and have to diet. Ugh! Last time I tried to quit, I ate everything in site and gained 8 pounds in a week. :what:

Another something I'd like to work on is being less "moody." I don't know if I can do this one, as I can't internally regulate my hormones, but at least I've admitted my problem and am willing to change the behavior. :whip:

Anyone else???

I am on dial-up, and I get a 24K connection becaues the phone lines in north county are poor on a good day.

The Bressler.org Official Diet:

1. Stop eating - critical step.

2. Masturbate and/or download porn as much as possible. This doesn't necessarily help you shed the pounds, but it does make you stop thinking about how fucking hungry you are.

Excellent advice. I have set both of those in motion 2 weeks ago.

I've joined a gym, and started a weight loss program as well. I have only lost about 5 pounds since 1/1/03. As I have followed JB$ advice above exactly, I must add this: You can't substitute beer for food, as I have been doing. As of tonight, no more booze for me for a while.

I have lost 8 lbs in 7 days. It's no wonder I'm sick.

That and your body will naturally "plateau" after so many pounds (but only for awhile.) :)

20.5... slowed way down... I'll consider this the end of the month, since I have a three day weekend.

Damn, Laurie, that's no resolution (being patient with stupid people)....that's a set up for a stroke if I ever saw one. :scary: ;)

I only had to make it a resolution because it pertains to those people I deal with at work on a daily basis. :what:

Excellent JB

Do you have any tips for getting and staying motivated? I was running 2 - 3 miles every day for awhile. But I came down with a cold and blew it off ever since. :(

Bikini weather is getting really close too. :scary:

Sure, don't eat anything.

Seriously though, I replace breakfast & lunch during the work week with a low carb shake, eat whatever I want for dinner. Don't drink alcohol during the work week. Do whatever I want on the weekends. Gym three times a week.

I'm doing pretty well with the diet part. Luckily I haven't had to work at it. (Except getting rid of the Easter candy)

However, getting my butt of the couch to workout seems impossible!

John, I was very, very restrictive on carbs until I got within sight of my goal. I rarely ate more than a half slice of bread. I didn't even eat carrots, peas or corn, unless it was small amounts. As I started adding things back in, I found that sugar is what hurts me. It makes me feel bad and gives me cravings. In fact, it makes me feel so bad that I don't have much trouble resisting it anymore.
