The server is back... Jeez what a nitemare. Who knows how well it's going to cooperate?

Anywho, there should be two games visible on the matching service under Bressler.org.

===================

Bresslerville - Password is 'robbsucks'. About the only thing this is good for right now is buying and selling, in which case you should be able to find all basic supplies pretty fast. There are four merchants in town (Cuda, Eddioboy, Robb and Barb101).

There are two very low level quests that are pretty much done in Bresslerville Woods (west). This may be fun to try. The rest is a mess with a couple things in the works. So not everything will work right or make sense.

There is one dungeon to the East that is really kick-ass but no associated quest yet. This is a ball-buster, I wouldn't recommend anyone solo it. It is the MOTHER of hack'n' slash with awesome loot. It's adopted with permission from another module.

Everything in Bresslerville should respawn. If I get back to work on this, things will change regularly. I'll post notes here.

=====================

LandOfNordock14 - No password. You'll have to create a character on the server to play this. It's supposed to be a persistent world (everything respawns) with HARDCORE RULES.

Basically, the way you leave this world should be the way you come back, even if you were dead, UNLESS I restart it. If your first level character dies, you are probably better off making a new one unless a DM or high level character wants to resurrect you.

I don't know anything about this module YET other than that, and that it is HUGE (close to a hundred areas?). You can also play a couple sub-races like Drow, and there is a trade skill system that is fun to play around with. Read the HCR details and other info at the start area.

========================

How is the server going to behave? No idea yet. Just got it working, we'll see how long things keep running.

'LandOfNordock14' should restart automatically if it crashes, and load a saved game (saves every 15 minutes), so just wait.

If 'Bresslerville' goes down, it needs to be started manually. So, if I'm not around it may be a while. It does not save games.

Looks like nobody really wants to play Nordock, if they have to create a new character. Oh well, it's staying that way for the moment. I don't want a bunch of illegal characters running around.

I looked over at NWVault and it's currently the third highest user rated module, out of 1500+.

Here is some usefull information from the modules home page if anyone decides to give it a shot:

A Map:

Online Guide with real helpful info:
http://www.hazleton.net/~pita/RR/Land%20of%20Nordock.htm

For a first level character, I think it will be imperative to hire a henchman (talk to Captain Tucker).

It would be even better to coordinate a party from the board here. E.g., 2-5 of us starting new characters and travelling together. I finally managed to get a fighter to level 2 by soloing. It was very tough.

If I see anyone on, I'll try to log in as DM and give a little starting help.

LOL Me too, Cuda. I've been doing way too much Xbox beta testing. Maybe we should team up on this? BTW, how far are you from Kennedy Airport? I'll be there Monday-Thursday next week.;) :scary:

Any particular night or time? I'd give it a try.

*mumbles to himself*

For some reason the Nordock module on Bressler.org is not displaying since last night, but it's there. It's very temperamental, I can start any other module and it displays immediately, but now I can't get Nordoc to show up. :shrug:

I logged on to it briefly, just to see if it was actually there and it was at 66.127.112.177:5121, so one could direct connect if they like.

There is a new version (1.5) available that I will load up tonight. They say there is over 300 areas now.

*stops mumbling to himself*

Last night I started a new "Sparrowhawk" for the Nordock module on the "Richterm's Retreat-East" server. There was about 30 or so people on. Pretty cool. I'd recommend it.

Oh... Tuesday Nights and Sundays would be a good time for me.

Thursday Nights and Wednesday nights would be a very bad time.

The rest I could probably work something out.

Tried to find the server tonight, and was unsuccessful. Even tried to direct connect.

Oh well.

I gave up on it. I can get any other module except that one to load and display... so fuck it. Probably has something to do with it being 54MB.

Play Nordock on that 'Richter East' server. I'll load something else up tomorrow.

I have another one loaded right now that's supposed to be persistent, but I've never tried it.

It's level 12+. It is showing on the matching service.

Now Playing At Bressler.org:

A CALL FOR HEROES 2

1. About A Call for Heroes 2 The Hand of Wu Jan

A Call for Heroes 2 is an original concept RPG Persistent World Module for Neverwinter Nights. The Hand of Wu Jan is the second in the A Call for Heroes series, and follows The Planer Tears. This adventure is recommended for groups of 2-4 players of levels 12-20. There are no class or alignment restrictions, but Evil PCs will find that very few evil deeds are available to be done.

The Hand of Wu Jan was designed to be run as a multiplayer RPG, but is flexible enough to be run as a high-level (powerful fighter) single player game or campaign as well. I've tried to write an Epic here, I leave it to you to decide if I've succeeded.

Hacked characters,half-dragons or PCs who have used the editor to change their appearance will not be able to complete this adventure. DM's Helper and visual inventory spy are supported and accessible through the Throne of Aulslime area. Resting is limited to the marked rest areas and respawning is controlled by Dom's bindstones. There is no bashing of chests or doors, or sloppy application of area effect spells. (Violaters are penguined or werewolved depending on danger level of the location.)

30 MB unzipped, 110 detailed areas of plot-driven questing. Estimated Playtime 7 Hours.

2. The Story

The plot concerns a global power struggle between many kingdoms for a great prize.

Assassination, seduction, murder and bribery are all within the rules when the prize is hegemony.

It all started out with the usual points and whispers coming from the dark corners of the tavern. It's nothing that you aren't used to. It goes with the territory when you're a famous adventurer.
But this time something was different. There was a hurried tension in their whispers, and genuine fear in their eyes. Then one of the commoners who was trying very hard not to look at you said it, just loud enough for you to hear: Wu Jan’s Fury.

It has been two years since anyone has called you that. Two years is a long time for a farmer or a tavern keeper, but for an adventurer, that can seem like a lifetime. It's been two years since you defeated the Druid-Race called the Atrian and saved the World of Selendi from the Planer Tears. Just when you were staring to wonder if your hazy memories of Pirating the Longtooth Sea with the Fabulous Buccaneers and walking the streets of fabled Great Platicus were real or just a dream,
the message came. It was an unsigned note pressed into your hand by a terrified waitress at the tavern.

Agent, you are to come to Great Platicus immediately and in secret. I need you.

Your Queen has called.

3. Strategy of Play

For best results, play in a group of 3-4 PCs with at least one high level tank and somebody has to be able to pick locks or else you will have to get a rogue henchman. As in The Planer Tears adventure, you should get used to the idea of carrying a lot of Snakes' Head Ale (or another form of cheap healing) and the discount scrolls of resurrection sold at any Temple of Aulslime. Pay attention to what you are told by persons in authority, and be sure to use your journal and map. Both will contain clues not
mentioned in dialogue.
