'Roofies', The New "Date Rape" Drug of Choice
By Clark Staten, ERRI Executive Director
Chicago, IL., January 6, 1996 (ENN) --Like the Quaaludes of the 60's and 70's, there is a new "love drug" being abused in several parts of the country. The drug is Rohypnol, or "Roofies" as it being is called on the street. It is also called "ruffies", "roche", "R-2", "rib" and "rope" and reportedly is quickly becoming the "date rape drug of choice."
Rohypnol is a brand name for flunitrazepam (a benzodiazepine), a very potent tranquilizer similar in nature to valium (diazepam), but many times stronger. The drug produces a sedative effect, amnesia, muscle relaxation, and a slowing of psychomotor responses. Sedation occurs 20-30 minutes after administration and lasts for several hours. The drug is often distributed on the street in it's original "bubble packaging" which adds an air of legitimacy and makes it appear to be legal. The drug is not commonly used by physicians in the United States and is not even listed in the commonly used Physician's Desk Reference.

Haha we always called them Roche or roach pills. Unfortunately one was not needed as she passed out all on her own that night.

I only got to cross once. :nolike: I do remember after it was over thinking boot camp was easier than wog day. I almost got stuck up there with the Shellback King, as a Wog Queen or something like that, I can't remember what it was called..... :hehe:
This was in the 80's when the big hair thing was happening. I am still a bit embarrassed by this one.
Way to go Vicky (sure you weren't a member of the Go Go's?)
Come on... let see some more folks!
Looking back I think I would have fitted right in, eagle......lol......:D
Vicky, I still have that hair (I can't help it, I was born with it!) I've ditched that shiny highlighter I've got on my eyes, though... I got a tan and didn't realize how much that shit POPS when the light hits it.
My hair was really straight when I was that age (about 18 in that photo), so that was a perm I had at the time. In the last few years though, my hair has started to get curly. It isn't as curly as yours, it is the type of curly that needs to be blow dried or it doesn't look right. After years of straight hair, I find it a bit hard to handle sometimes.:)
I have naturally curly hair, and I PAY money to have it straightened.
Me....after closing a bar in Chicago at 4am....no, I am not wearing a sweater!

I have heard of people having that done. How often do you have to do it, and how long does it last?
I have thought about getting a straighening iron, but I am worried about the damage it might do to my hair.

Oh, shit, Barb! The big wooden spoon and fork have sported my family walls. I forgot all about those things! Creepy.
JDub, it looks like you have red curly hair. (precious) Is that just the weird photo colors or was it really red?
Peckable, you crack me up! :p

If you think about it, it's just the opposite of getting a perm. They use a relaxer. I get it done only twice a year, and each time it's lasted anywhere from 1 month to 3 months. My hair is stubborn, but on average, it should last 3-4 months.
I haven't done it for awhile, as the dumb bitch who did it last time put the solution on dry, "to see if it makes it last longer."
Well, my hair started breaking off. Not noticeable to anyone but me, but I'm waiting an extra 6 months to get it relaxed again.
In the meantime, I do use a straightening iron. But only once a week, as this will fry your hair more than getting it professionally relaxed.
My hair feels more healthy right after a "relax" than any other time. Ironically amazing!
If anyone decides to it, make sure you get a stylist who specializes in straightening/relaxing techniques, or you could be in t-t-trouble.

 This was the year my front teeth fell out - just in time for the school photos. I'm the fat one in the back row. But have a look at Miss Chalmers, the teacher!!!!! I remember her as being incredibly hairy. You could see all the hairs on her legs underneath her stockings. If I'd have known what pubes were then, I would have sworn she had 'em down to her ankles. And if she hadn't married Mr. Smith, I would have sworn she was a bloke...

.....and here's a more recent one. My friend Noog and I at the footy club to watch the Swans get their asses kicked in the semi final last month. We were the only two Swans supporters there, and as you can see, we decorated our own table. We got to pop all the balloons and drown our sorrows after that though, so it wasn't all that bad.....
Jilly,
Look at you, Hot Mama, with your hourglass figure! So much for being the "fat kid in the back row" (your words). :)
