Is this a good idea for a new Forum?
Purpose:
* All Gaming Challenges (moderator posted only)
* All "Caption This" Threads (all users)
* "Word Association" Threads???
* One "Suggestion" Thread
* Sport "Pick Em" Threads
NO DISCUSSION THREADS, except suggestion thread.
ONLY NEW USER THREADS WOULD BE "CAPTION THIS" THREADS.
Discuss...
I think so...maybe a better way to post links for those of us to waste time abusing our work's high speed access. Bored.com is getting old, and I know there are tons of sites out there we can share.
My 2 cents
ok after looking at the time wasting forum contents with all the gaming challenges, the way it is is good too...
JB, if you would like to separate the post-padding fools like Stibroker and myself from the rest of the law-abidding citizens of Bressler.org, I have absolutely no problem with that. I know that there are times in my (not so busy) professional life that I need/want to kill some time, and I would also like some localized place where I can deposit all of these steaming piles of knowledge without wasting someone else's time. I think it's a fabulous I idea. My only question is, as you've posed the question, it appears that the new location would be an entirely new forum; is that this case, because I don't know if I speak for anyone else here, but I would prefer it be another section within the main forum? Too many clicks can make baby Jesus cry.:cry:
I do love you, JB, though. And all that you do for us shameless, heartless, thoughtless conservatives. Is there somewhere I can donate?? I certainly feel that I've taken up my share of your bandwidth.:D:D:D (I'm serious here, for a change.)

It's got nothing to do with post-padding.
"It appears that the new location would be an entirely new forum"
???? Here it is. Should be no guessing involved. This is what the poll is on. Keep this (yes) or lose it (no)?
New forum as in, having the same status as "Politics", "This, That & Whatnot", etc. Theory being that instead of being mixed with general conversation items, it would have it's own spot. It wouldn't be so hard to find a "Caption This" that might be over 4 days old (as it slides to the next page). Conversely, conversation items in "This, That & Whatnot" would not slip to Page 2 so quickly (we used to have it this way before the board was so active).
I don't see it as a place for users to start any new threads, except "Caption This" threads. All new Gaming Challenges would be posted here as well. There would be one "suggestion" thread to post Time-Wasters folks might find on their own. Anything else should still go in "This, That & Whatnot".
I don't understand what you mean by "another section within the main forum". This is how it would be. If folks don't like it, I'll move all these threads back into "This, That and Whatnot".
There are more "Caption This" threads to move as well.
My apologies, Herr Money. I misunderstood the intention of your post...must be the illegals I've been consuming. New section on the main page is good, new main page is bad...I suppose that went without saying, but apparently my dumbass couldn't grasp the concept at the time of inception, or announcement. I'm sorry for my ignance, and I promise to be less retarded in the future. Don't you have a paypal account or something I can donate to so I don't feel like such a leech??? PM if you must. I still love you even though you are a sarcastic biotch.;) BTW, still yes on the new main page addition...anything to separate the wheat from the chaff.;)
Apologies,
JDub

No apologies necessary.
I'm an emotionless robot whose humor is as dry and mainstream as the Rosetta Stone. If I didn't have sarcasm, there just wouldn't be anything there. I still love you like the hairless incontinent Chihuahua that I never had as a child.

Let's see,(1) there are 71 drams in a 12 oz. (355ml) can of Bud, (2) if the angle of the dangle is > the meatus of the .........., & (3) railroad conductors don't often carry electricity. Feed this into Bresslerbutt 5000 & see if it can compute the required paypal system.
Yes, I like the seperate forum idea.:hang: :beer: :thumbs:

Bressler.org just keeps evolving and growing. It won't stop until it becomes a world economic super power. Then everyone will hate JB and blame him for their international problems and petty issues.

For this reason alone, I like it.
