View Full Version : I Was There

On Sideout's suggestion, "I Was There" is a theme thread where you Photoshop yourself into history and perhaps add a short sentence or two to go along with the picture.
This DOES NOT have to be a "Suicide" picture.
If you don't want to put yourself in the picture, feel free to be creative by mixing personalities from the present (e.g., Bush, Gates, Britney Spears, etc.) with events in the past.
Either way, something from history should be your base image, ***NOT*** a current event.
This first one is from Sideout and is a perfect example:
Menlo Park, New Jersey - 1880 - Thomas Edison proudly displays a new version of his incandescent light bulb...AND I WAS THERE!

Recycled...
Yalta Conference, 1945 - The meeting of the "Big Three - Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill - often cited as the beginning of the Cold War... AND I WAS THERE!

A Moment in History.....
A little known fact was that John Hancock never actually signed the Declaration of Independence. He was at home in Boston with a bad case of gout & decided to send me in his place. I had better penmanship anyway:D

Leo was always a great friend of mine. When he started painting The Last Supper I would rib him about being a little sexist by having so many men at such a historical event so to get me to shut up he finally added me into the picture. Which as you know, is one of the most famous painitings in the world.

Chuck Yeager confided to me that he was "scared shitless" before his flight to break the sound barrier. I let him use my "lucky" headset which calmed him him down.

My reaction when Col George Custer told me he was taking the promotion and new orders out west.
Here I am flying wing for Chuck Yeager in the X-1A. As you can see I'm stuck with the Tripacer. We start to have a falling out after this when I call him a speed whore for hogging all the fast planes.

We were right there when that UFO came crashing down in our backyard back in the days when we used to rent that place up in Roswell. We had a good time, one alien joined us when we had our backyard barbeque, the other one died...terrible stench as i recall..
Ofcourse that didn't happen,
it was a weather balloon:(
I was there when Robert Goddard made his first rocket flight.
He made me light the fuse while he waited in the bunker.

Here we see a photo of Eagle3 getting ready for his first recon patrol during his tour in the Pacific.
After several HARD landings (12 in total) and trashed Mustangs, Eagle3 was grounded for the rest of his tour. One such landing happened when he forgot to lower his wheels and slid an amazing 400 yards right through the officers mess.
