So are there any CS players on the board?
Besides Rickmode?
BTW, Ricks server is death.rickmode.com
I stopped playing CS because l337 talk confused me too much.. now I just stick to old MUDs

I play Day of Defeat, the rockinest Half-Life mod in my opinion. It is set during WW 2, and I find it more fun than Wolfenstein.

I realize my last post was semi-offtopic. Regarding CS, I have played, and like it a lot. I also have a 56K modem, so I like games where the penalty for dying is not as grievous as it is in CS.
In CS, the waiting for resurrection could take a couple of minutes. Since I'm at a ping disadvantage, and I have all of the patience and tactical subtlety of a Doom monster, I wait a lot.
At least with DoD (Day of Defeat), the spawn wait is somewhere between 5 and 15 seconds.
I'll have to give that a try.

I play the CS casually, but I'm a big DoD player like Eddioboy. Perhaps we've played against one another...
My name is prefixed by =QOR= though.
Yeah, CS is ok, but I get bored fast. DoD is fast and furious and I dig it.

I've never played it but I've heard good things about DoD. I think one of the gaming mags singled it out for a multiplayer gaming award too.

If you'd like more info:
www.dayofdefeatmod.com
www.zeroping.com/dod
www.thekillinggrounds.com
Three good sources of info, the first being the official site. They are just about to release a new version, so the timing is...uhm...timely.

hahah, stupid UBB code. I post on too many different boards to remember all the codes. sigh.

Don't bother learning UBB code, we'll be moving to a new board any day now.

Wham, I have used various names in succession while playing DoD, primarily Sergeant Bjork. But now I use the name Hayduke.
Hopefully you're not now become apopleptic with rage, sputtering, "so YOU'RE Hayduke! My arch-nemesis! Curse you and your fiendish ways, cur!"
I bought CS because you and rickmode said you played it online. I did play it for about five minutes once so I figured if I went online with you I'd be at a huge disadvantage. However, I do have a really fast cable modem that would be great for playing games.
Jeff, you can always try Ricks server. Death.rickmode.com.
In the console you can type 'connect death.rickmode.com' without the quotes.

Lately the server always has people on it...
If you have trouble connecting due to slots full let me know and I'll set you up to get one of the reserved slots.

Brant was actually on the other night.
Robb, we all know that you are the idiot savant of video games. I see you play a game once and you suck as bad as everyone else. However, once you play it for a while, you come back and whoop my ass. That’s why I can’t play CS with you. I need a head start so at least I can be better at it for a couple of weeks before you start idiot-savanting my ass into submission.
Idiot-servant vs. Idiot.

Robb, how about a game of Lords of Conquest? I'd bet you'd never be able to idiot savant that game.
OK, I'll take the bet. I probably have a 50/50 chance. That's a hell of alot better than trying to take you in CS. Of course due to the age of Lords of Conquest we can't network it. We need to go to CM's house and have a retro game fest.
