How would you like to “live the adventure” of the USS Midway? Now you can! This December we will be taking a Midway members-only “Shakedown Cruise” on the Carnival Spirit to the Mexican Riviera!
This will be a cruise uniquely suited to Midway members! We’ll have a variety of fun and interactive shipboard activities open only to museum members. And when we get “liberty” ashore in Mexico, we will offer special outings only for Midway members such as golf, historic home tours, and premier dining at local restaurants.
Best of all, part of the proceeds will benefit the Midway education scholarship fun and Carnival will also match part of the proceeds! It’s a great way to create a lifetime memory and contribute to the future of Midway for generations to come!
The eight-day cruise aboard the Carnival Spirit departs San Diego on December 1, 2006 and features ports of call at Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa and Manzanillo coupled with four “Fun Days” at sea. Among the tentatively planned shipboard activities are a President’s Reception with RADM Mac McLaughlin, entertaining talks about life aboard Midway during its 1945 shakedown cruise to the Caribbean by Midway Magic author Scott McGaugh, and a host of other one-of-a-kind events and activities. The ship returns to San Diego December 8, 2006.
