Some really good games yesterday - I have Sirius radio and they had three games going at all times and it tells you the score on the screen - was nice at work yesterday with the games on in the background - the BC game in double OT and then last night in the car listening to GW's 19-0 run

You'll see no tears shed here for Sparty. I was amazed they made it in the tourney at all.

Maize is a crop, not a color.:hehe: But anyway, no college has ever won the championship in all 3 major sports in the same year, unless

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3296418/

I’ve heard the expression, “Don’t Mess With Texas” for a long time, but only recently have I realized just what it means.

If you’re an NCAA opponent with championship aspirations, you might find the road blocked by Longhorns.

Last June, Texas defeated Florida to win the NCAA baseball crown.

In January, the Longhorns outlasted USC in the Rose Bowl to capture the championship of college football.

And now, the Texas basketball team is in the Sweet Sixteen and one of the favorites to stand triumphant when March Madness ends.

Whether anyone likes it or not, it’s hard to argue against Texas’ current standing as the premier athletic program in the country.

I’m sure if we heaped in other sports like field hockey, water polo, badminton and tiddlywinks there might be a challenger out there to the Longhorns’ supremacy.

But in terms of major sports that people care about the most, Austin is to championships what Philadelphia is to cheesesteaks.

Kudos then to baseball coach Augie Garrido, football coach Mack Brown and basketball coach Rick Barnes for building their programs into models of consistency, efficiency and excellence.

Of course, some of that could change this weekend if the Longhorns fall flat against West Virginia, or in the Elite Eight against the Duke-LSU winner. Then they’ll be held up for ridicule – by the Texas baseball and football teams.

But for now, a tip of the ten-gallon hat to the boys in burnt orange.

No biggy - you are getting up there ya know :Poke:

Michigan did win the NIT a year or so ago and I posted that pic. MSU did win the NCAA 2 ro 3 years ago, and I'm sure that I would have had some comments, though they wouldn't be what you'd consider "positive"

Well, my team is once again in the NIT, but I guess that's better than getting bounced in the first round of the big dance  Their win over Notre Dame the other night was quite a good game - buzzer-beater in 2OT, can't beat that.

And Rguess...a longhorn is hamburger, what's your point? :Poke:

More than 1.5 million people participated and of the more than 3 million entries submitted only four -- that's right, four -- picked a Final Four including Florida, George Mason, LSU and UCLA before the tournament started. Over 66 percent of entries had none of the Final Four teams correct and better than 29 percent had exactly two teams correct.
