So, who is ready for the March 12th season premeir of "The Soprano's?" I cannot wait.
Oh damn I thought this was the words to "Hey Joe".....next season? I've got relatives on my wife’s side that are about bada bing :!!!: One thing on a serious note I do like how they dress I mean to the nines for every occassion I feel like a hobo when we come around, of course I work a straight job so forget about it.
I can't wait either...but all I can say is....it better be worth the wait.
I can watch those shows over and over on demand.

Comcast? I'm cheap my cable cost me very little per month. I guess since I used to work for comcast I've never gotten a hike in my bill. It's under 20 bucks a month for limited basic.
yeah, I have Comcast - my bill is like 110 a month for one regular receiver and one dvr/hidef receiver and the only pay channel I have is HBO (because of the Sopranos and their other shows)

I have the first 5 seasons on DVD
You know that cat who played spider in Goodfellas-Christopher Moltisanti? How is his part in the show? I never have seen it.
He was a junkie but now reformed...not the smartest dude but has street smarts and has some blood relation to Tony (the boss) so Tony sees him as his future but is disappointed in him because of his use of drugs
He plays a good character...they all do, the acting is great
You know I really like Martin Scorsese films about the mob and what not. I enjoy watching those mob flicks. But I don't have HOBO (HBO) I think I could rent those shows at the video joint, but actually I've never looked into it. I can tell you this that in our family I visited wifes great uncle he's 92 So he tells me a few things and one thing he said in a round about way was his son. Like he loves his son but he isn't grateful for things he says. I really don't care for him so much he's kind of arrogant unlike his father he's real down to earth. I guess when I visit him I spend like 3-4 hours just listening and talking about things. This guy has some stories but he never goes in too deep. One thing I do know is he ran a casino in Cuba back in the 50's when the mob got chased out of Vegas. That tidbit didn't sink in until I watched the God Father and they were in Cuba. So now I listen up more. But it's truly a small world nevertheless so this is my sopranos story.
My Sopranos story

I understand that Weps. No one is wrong for liking a particular form of entertainment. Some folks think we are nuts for the amount of money/time/effort spent on NASCAR and other forms of racing.
But I do agree that $110.00 per month is way too much for TV. I spend 70 split two ways and I think that is too much. But I do get to watch The Soprano's and Deadwood. Both are very good TV shows, well worth the effort. Next time at the video store go rent season 1 of the Sopranos. You'll be hooked. By the time you finish season 5, this (new) season will be out.
If you don't I will sic Dave's "family" on you.

dont rent prostitutes lol......
Freudian slip! :p :Poke:
I dont rent them, my friends date them lol
Dont get me wrong, the cable price pissed me off but.....what are ya gonna do?
sic Dave's "family" on you.
For you Dave I'll give it a go. Now while your BSing Spotter going to my local roundy round track has even gotten freaking stupid! Used to be like 7 bucks all night now it's upward to say 20 bucks per person, they ain't all that. So yeah everything in the 'entertainment business" is freaking outragous! Now about ho's well I'll leave that one to Dave or Weps:Poke: But even when you've roped one up for life it can be a costly adventure:o

Don't know about the show, but it's got a great theme song. Any show that has the Alabama 3 singing it's theme song has to be good. Larry Love and the First Church of Elvis the Divine rock!!!:hehe:

First two shows....ehhhhh.....not impresse yet - was expecting more - I hate the dream sequences
A little tid-bit from online about Vito:
Is leather-loving Vito done after last episode? Maybe not so much! An untested source passes along something for the invisotext: "A friend who works in the filming world mentioned that on the Sopranos there’s a violent rape scene between Joseph R. Gannascoli [who plays Vito Spatafore] and Will Janowitz [who plays Finn DeTrolio] will occur within the next two episodes. Cast members mentioned that it is so disgusting that many walked off set sick from it."

Well we know he is alive and hiding in New Hampshire. And we also know that Finn ratted him out as a peter puffer.
Do we have to see puking in every episode??
I think i know where this season is headed but so far it appears to be more like a soap opera and less like my favorite show....they seem to be going with the "fall of the mafia" theme.....Tony is experiencing a life change, corporate America coffee shops are impossible to bust out, even Artie's restaurant is suffering because they all drain him.....Vito's a fag, people hanging themseleves, Junior is in the looney bin, Johnny Sac is in jail....one big demise

If the rumors are true, then we are in for a rude awakening. Possibly this next episode.
Once again....a puking scene..
Only 3 episodes left, so far, in my opinion, a disappointing season.
Last night, that DiSorbo's bakery was mentioned...they are a local Italian Bakery around my parts....great stuff. Story has it that they had been sending canolis to the Sopranos set for years and the actors loves the stuff and got them a little part on the show.

Is a Zuppole similar to what we get here? A funnel cake? (Basically fried dough with sugar and cinnamon?)
No thats fried dough around here....usually topped with sugar or tomato sauce and grated cheese....Zepole...pronunced Zay-Po-La....is an airy pastry more than a heavy dough, its wide like a deli roll and they slice it in half and fill it with Italian cream - usually vanilla but they come in chocolate too.....and they have a hole in the center like a doughnut but only on thje top half....and then they sprinkle powdered sugar on them and top them with a cherry......they come out around St Joseph's day in March.....you can get them made anytime at a bakery but thats when they are traditionally eaten.
We have funnel cakes too...sometimes called Angel Wings......but fried dough is a popular item at those Italian feasts......those thing go on just about every week at different churches arounds here.

Boy, that was about the lamest episode ever. It even had a flashback.
it was pretty bad...and there are only 3 left! I feel very unsatisfied so far.

....so are they building up for one good episode?? I want a season of good episodes.
ENOUGH!! of the Vito make out scenes already....this show is losing all credibility

You know, in Nip/Tuck they play music when they are operating. That way, people who can't stand operations can look away from the screen. Since we are usually eating when we watch it, we do... as soon as the music goes on.
They need to start doing that for all the gay makeout scenes in Sopranos. Seriously can't relax and eat, and see that on my TV.... no offense to folks that are into that sort of thing, just not my idea of Sunday afternoon entertainment.
Show is going downhill fast.
I agree 1000%.....if thats your thing...fine....and we get the idea from one scene....do we need to see 4 or 5 of them??
But if they were lesbian scenes, that would be ok.
JBMoney

But if they were lesbian scenes, that would be ok.
Of course. It is, for all practical purposes, a show that is target marketted to the stereotypical male (who are into the whole mafia setting). So, fur-munching lesbians and Badabing topless dancers make sense. 300+ pound italian males in leather bondage gear slipping their tongues into other guys' orifices... DOES NOT!!
HELLO!!! *knock* *knock* ANYBODY HOME?
JBMoney
05-15-06, 10:48 AM
Phil better cap that M*****F***ER and bring some dignity back to the family. Cap Tony too while he's at it. Sheesh.
All in all....even forgetting about the gay scenes...this season is a disappointment as far as the story goes.
JBMoney

...and cap Tony's sister too!! Gawd I hate that cunt.
Amen Brutha.....like to see Bobby back hand her in the mouth....

Replace "males" with "Tony's sister" and this applies every bit as much, btw, so it's not homophobia.
Looks like the war is on......two guys killed without permission....gonna be a bloodbath.....
Did you notice that after they killed Phil's guy they finished cooking and ate their meal....dead guy on the floor and all.

Why waste a good plateful of macaroni and gravy?
I never would.....
When my first son was born my ex was in labor all day and we were frantic..all day....finally, around 5pm, I decided I needed some food so I made some pasta, as soon as I drained the pasta she was ready to roll.......so I packed it and took it with me and that bowl of pasta tasted incredible at 3am.

Did anyone else notice the 20" flat panel TV's that were in nearly every scene during the first 15 minutes this week? I chuckled when I realized that a bunch of them must have fallen off a truck somewhere :p
Horrible season in my opinion compared to previous seasons....last night topped it off...where is the action? Enough of the Chris and his drugs unless it ends up in an OD or him getting popped by some junkie....what a heart warming Christmas scene at the end.......what is this?? Happy Days??
The final 8 in January better come thru
So...its finally here
The final 8 episodes start 4/8/07
Any predictions??
Does Tony get whacked? Will he choose to retire from the mob and enjoy his life (thats my opinion, that he is actually a nice guy in a mobster's body)
These last 8 episodes need to make up for the that last few years disappoting shows.

I am keeping faith that the yawns are leading up to some real good final shows...the first one will tell the tale, if it doesn't sprint out of the gate, may be a bad sign.
.....and if it sucks, Rescue Me starts soon

There is a guy from Austin named Turk Pipkin that played Janice's boyfriend a few years ago. He was the Jesus freak that was narcoleptic. He went to the premier of the first two episodes at Radio City Music Hall and he says they were great. Lots of action.

So, how was it? I haven't seen it yet.
The whole episode takes place up at Bobby's lake house. Do you want me to spoil it ??
It was....ok...not great, not terrible...the theory I had seems to be the route they are taking
I predict... *yawn*... and then everyone dies.
and now you know... the rest of the story.
Sounds like a dead pool

You know, my first impulse would be to do exactly that, but with TV shows there's always someone out there doing a good job of 'spoiling' which makes a betting situation frustrating and pointless. That's why I don't do the Survivor contest anymore.
I dont mean the ending, I meant spoiling the episode for you if you haven't seen it yet

I think they are going to throw us a few curve balls this time.

Watched. The dropping the gun thing was ridiculous. He may not have killed anyone before but he's done his share of beating the tar out of people (when the odds are totally stacked in his favor). There's no way he's gonna lose his head that badly. With regard to the fight, he clearly sucker-punched him, from the side too.
Spotter
04-09-07, 10:20 PM
Isn't it customary to leave the gun at the scene? Michael was told to drop the gun after bagging the police Capitan and Virgil Sollozzo. I thought I'd seen it many times.
JBMoney
04-09-07, 11:58 PM
true... didn't seem like he did it on purpose though
Spotter
04-10-07, 12:05 AM
When I saw him do it, I saw it as nearly the same way that Michael did it. As he was walking away, absorbing what he had just done. As an afterthought. "Oh ya, I'm supposed to leave this here." Toss.
....leave the gun...take the canoli
I think he had gloves on

you mean the thing? yeah done!
thought my cable box crapped out
thats that. Different kind of ending.
theory is that he is dead, everything went black, as he discussed what it was like to die with Bobby in the boat (and they flahed back to that scene in the final episode)
the guy I know was telling me about things. So after the parking ordeal the whole family was taken out. That is normally not done, but I guess it was open season on all families, the problem is you've just allowed those damn russians free reign to run everything.
its all an assumption at this point

I will admit that I rarely watched the Sopranos, but I liked it when I did. From the things that I'm reading, the finale suggests that the producers are leaving room for a movie in the future. Just speculation, though.
