S. Carolina State (http://www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/sports/12938018.htm?source=rss&channel=thestate_sports) - TO FULLY APPRECIATE the state-record 64-yard field goal Richard Jackson kicked Friday in Riverside’s high school football victory against Union, you have to digest a few facts. First, Jackson’s kicked the ball through the uprights from the opposite side of the 50-yard line, no small feat at any level of football. Second, this was no desperation, end-of-the-game attempt to win a game. And, finally, this was no fluke.

“He’s got the leg. He’s kicked 70-yarders in practice,” said Don Frost, Riverside’s coach. - Whole Story (http://www.thestate.com/mld/thestate/sports/12938018.htm?source=rss&channel=thestate_sports)

I wonder how many scholarships he's going to get for different colleges. Sideout always tells me - if our son learns how to kick - he's got it made!

Don't remember the guy's name, but we have a high school player back when I was there who was booting 65 yarders in practice and 55 yarders during games. I thought for sure the dude would be pro. Not sure where he went after high school, but he was never heard much of again.
