You assume too much D-mon.

There are actually only a few people on the board from Sacramento. I think myself, RodSM and Freida. And Stryder, if he comes back when I 'unban' him.

There are probably more Sacramento board lurkers than posters. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

Joel, please send me some salsa and chicken flautas from Pappasito's. Best Mexican food I ever had.

In return, I'll send you some toasted ravioli, a St. Louis favorite.

I'm sorry Shotglass, but the next Super Bowl champs are the Steelers!

Shotglass,

I used to like Pappasito's but my wife and I went there last year for my birthday and my wife got a roach in her enchiladas. The roach was fine. I happens, I understand that. What wasn't fine was the fact that I went through 3 managers and still could get them to take the plate off our bill. There way of trying to appease me was to give me a free "birthday soppapia" which I didn't order or even like.

Anyhow, I haven't been back since. There is plenty of other good texmex places around here though. Ninfa's can be good, and Mamasita's is very good as well.

I've never managed to go to St. Louis. I was supposed to go there on a business trip, but I got laid off right before the trip. From pictures, that arch looks amazing. I'd like to check it out. One more place to put on my list of places to take a vacation.

Des Moines, Iowa.

But subject to change with little notice.

Lake Charles, LA looks like for my next home, but Juneau and Vegas are also strong contenders.

I have some friends that can stand the bitter cold of Sacremento but I have never lived there. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/smile.gif I have lived in sunny Southern California all my life but never higher than 34 degrees lattitude.

Thanks for the heads up, Joel. Next time I'm in Planet Houston I think I'll stick with Dave and Buster's. Never had a bad meal at any of the ones I've been to.

Anyone live near Chicago? I could really go for a roast beef sandwich right now from one of those little shacks on the south side...... http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

Rancho Santa Margarita, Orange County to be more precise.

Wow! Uranus. I've heard of several Californians coming from other planets but most of them live in places like Santa Monica, Berkley or mental institutions. I've never heard of a Uranian living in South Orange County.

jillamanda, what's a Swampie?

Sacramento does seem to be surprisingly underrepresented here. Even JB$ technically resides outside of the city. The currently (but hopefully temporarily) unwelcome Stryder lives in Rocklin now. I, however, am squarely in midtown. At least there's one of us left. Not sure about Freida. 'Course there are Russell and DutchGrl (about to be married) who have only made brief appearances here but live solidly in East Sac. There must be more. Maybe we should start a search party...

everyone's talking rams etc,our local footy team is the swampies, named after the swamp adjacent to the footy club.which is frequented by swamp hawks.....that's about all that's here, but jeez, does it rock!!!.....and,incidentally,they are just about to celebrate their centenary, big news in a country just over 200 years old, would anyone like an 'on the spot report'?

I live in SoCal. Riverside (1 hour east of Los Angeles) to be exact.

Thought you might be interested jillamanda, but our local football team, the San Diego Chargers, have a former Australian rules football player as their punter. His name is Darren Bennent and he played in your West Coast leage form 1987-88 then in Melbourne from 1988-93. Have you ever heard of him? He's one of the best punters in the NFL. He's been selected to the NFL all-star game (called the Pro Bowl) a couple of times. His personal website is www.nflaussie.com. (http://www.nflaussie.com.)

Sacramento proper.

Why is Stryder banned? I just thought he wasn't appearing because this site is full of sinful hedonism (although that hasn't stopped Roddo).

Well... I just scored a nice apartment in San Francisco so i guess I can no longer claim Beiruit as my home town. Actually, Beiruit was my code name for the bedroom community of Cameron Park which is about 30 miles outside of Sacramento.

At least now I can make a solid claim to how I KNOW northern California is BETTER that Sounthern California http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

Macbeth

You don't "KNOW" that at all. When was the last time you were in Southern California? Ummm wasn't it like . . .NEVER!

I guess that means your just taking someone else's word for it (you disappoint me).

California is California. How much difference can a few hundred miles in one state of the union make, anyway? We speak the same language, salute the same flags...
