The teams have been set. New Orleans is ready to party. You are making plans and you know where you will watch the big game.
Yep, the Super Bowl is only a week away, and the Rams are ready to take home the Lombardi trophy again.
Good luck to both teams. New England is going to really need it just to stay in the game. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

I must admit that the Rams are a great team. You really can't go wrong with a RB like Faulk. And their WR's?? Dynamite on the field. But I must also admit that Philly gave them a run for their money.
New England may be the so-called underdog here, but I won't discount them until that "fat lady sings" next week. If my Packers don't make it to the Bowl, then I typically go for the team that doesn't have a shot in hell. That just gives me some interest in the actual game. Oh yeah, I also like the commerical ads, too. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif

Yeah, the commercials have really made the game even better. I hope there's one with full frontal nudity.
I just wish they didn't have U2 playing there. The Super Bowl is an American tradition, and those dorks are about as anti-American as the Taliban.

Well, since my Steelers took a royal sh*# today, I going for the Rams.
Alot of us here in L.A. still hold a soft spot in our hearts for the Rams (even though I don't remember when they were here).
The patriots have been my long time favorite team, So I'm going to say they win by landslide

I don't mind the Rams so much now, but from what I remember, when the Rams were there, more people hated them than loved them (including myself).
I remember going to LA home games vs. SF, and there'd be more SF fans than LA fans.
I was born a Rams fan. Had season ticketes too. Then that bitch/whore/murderer moved them. I'd really tell you what I thought but I'm getting over it now. I was just looking at my set of L.A. Rams drinking glasses today and thinking about all the losing I put up with all those years just to have that psycho stripper palm reading bitch move them on me. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/mad.gif
One bright spot is that due to the Rams departure, I am now the proud owner of Charger season tickets. It's like deja vu all over again. Losing season after losing season. I'm sure that just before they're ready to win a Super Bowl they'll find a new city to move to. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be too worried about that happening anytime soon. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/frown.gif

They were too tired when they were in LA having to run from panhanlers and surgically altered women and all that.
Now they concentrate on football.
That, and Warner seems to be the leader on the field they lacked for so long. Without him, even with all this talent, they would probably still be struggling.
But, LA's loss is our gain. Were they selling out in LA? Nothing but sellouts here.

Well maybe surgically altered women but not panhandlers. They actually played in Orange County not L.A. What really pisses me off is that there are all of these people in St. Louis who paint themselves up in Rams colors and act like they’ve always been Rams fans. YOU DON’T HAVE THAT RIGHT. You Johnny-come-latelys need to hold on to the dream that the Cardinals will come back. Keep hope alive. Your team will return. Furthermore, I want you to know that I’m not bitter about your dumb ass luck. Well, I mean I’m beginning to get over it but every time the Rams go to the playoffs it’s a painful reminder of that fat peroxide bimbo whore’s theft of the Rams and the questionable circumstances of Carroll Rosenblum’s death. Which of course brings up this important reminder for all of us: "Always think twice before marrying any girl that you meet during a lap dance.”

O.K. so what did that stripper chick do? As I said I don't remember when they left. But everytime her face is on t.v. all the gentlemen in the room start screaming obsentities (much like the ones you've chosen).
All the guys in my office have dusted off the old Rams stuff and they like to call her names too.
So here is what I know . . . the owner guy of the Rams married a stripper (doesn't that make him the dummy?) then he died and she got the team. ????
Macbeth, it probably wouldn’t have been a big deal except for the fact that Carroll Rosenblum was a world class swimmer who somehow drowned. Additionally, after Rosenblum’s death, the fat ass stripper (aka Georgia) managed to wrest ownership of the team from Rosenblum’s son and deny him any control or status within the Rams organization.
I have spoken with one of the ex-Rams players on a couple of occasions who played during the 70’s and early 80’s who said that all of the players were completely freaked out by Georgia because even while Rosenblum was alive she used to hit on the players. He also said that even though they couldn’t say it publicly, the players believed that Georgia had a hand in Carroll’s death.

Sorry, jhans, there is no way in Hell we would allow the Cardinals back here. Wait, I'll rephrase that, WE DO NOT WANT BILL BIDWILL INVOLVED IN OUR FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lots of Cardinal merchandise moved here when they were here. Dierdorf and Hart still have a decent steakhouse or two here. Their problem was that Fatboy Bidwill would not spend the money to put a winner on the field.
You really should seek therapy for this Rams thing...... http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/mad.gif

IMO the Eagles aren't much better than the Patriots and they sure gave the Rams a run for their money in the Championship game.
I'm not a Patriot fan, but I always side on the AFC in the Superbowl.
Cuda, not a chance. Nadda. Ain’t gonna happen. Let me rephrase that. As long as Warner is in the game Patriots won’t win. However, if the Pats can injure Warner before the end of the third quarter they might have a chance. However, if they injure Warner, it just might be the spark that Faulk needs to set a Super Bowl rushing record.
A little dated but still relevant:

Cuda, my sentiments exactly. “Playoff excitement and a championship should be rewards that are earned. The people hoisting champagne glasses and dancing in the downtown streets should have a history behind them, should have walked up a long, hard hill to get to the party.”
And that's the Ram's weakness jhansberger. Should the Patriots lose a quarter back, I don't think they'll have to worry much.

We here in ol' St. Louis have walked that road already. We suffered the Cardinals for years. They never made it past the first game of the few playoffs they managed to get into.
Then we had 4 years of a pretty lackluster team in the Rams, the local media had to buy leftover tickets and give them away to make sure the games were televised, which can only be done for a sellout.
So, watch those St. Louis Rams win the big one and cheer them on. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/smile.gif
Side note to Patriots fans, Roseanne Barr is in your town and warming up her vocal cords....... http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/smile.gif

It is true that St. Louis had to put up with a lot of losing prior to the Rams coming to town. But it still seems like St. Louis is not rooting for the Rams as much as they are just rooting for a winning team. If the Rams stay in St. Louis for another 10-15 years I’ll probably be willing to concede that St. Louis and the Rams deserve each other. But right now I just look at most of the fans as a bunch of bandwagoners. I mean, every citizen of St. Louis has the right to get up and cheer but they are going to have to suffer through the bad times before I’ll believe that they are true fans.
BTW I'll be rooting for the team but not the oversized stripper. When she got up after the first Super Bowl win to give a victory speech and started bagging on the fans that had supported the Rams for years she proved that she was still the same trailer trash hooker that she was born to be.

what year is that from?
That was 1982, Georgia hadn’t gotten fat yet. Shortly thereafter she began to get large.
The Rams won't always be the great team they are now. As soon as those players become free agents.....well.....it's all over
Unless, of course, they are willing to pay top dollar for all of those players, which of course they couldn't possibly do with today's football salary caps.
Sounds like some Green Bay fan is feeling the pinch of the salary cap.
Hey, I don't set up the rules. And though we may not have millions upon millions of dollars to spend on one player, we get some damn good ones. The guys we do get just seem to naturally mature while playing for the Pack!
[This message has been edited by Laurie (edited 01-30-2002).]
Yeah but like Laurie said, as soon as they turn free-agent they're gone. Gone just like the days of having you're favorite team have the same players *AND* coaches for more than a couple of seasons. http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/mad.gif
It's an advertising/corporate ball game now. Basketball, Baseball, Nascar...
Winner's generate money. If you're not a winner you're out.

WWWAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!
Gotta hand it to the Pats. They played the better game and took home the prize.
There's always next year....
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HA! And they all thought the patriots would LOSE! So kiss my ass sports section man! You suck! You think the game is not worth watching because the patriots will be trampeled?! HA! YEAH!
Good game, especially at the end. Definitely one of the best games in a while.
And now for the I told you so... "I told you so." http://bushwhacked.net/ubb/wink.gif
AFC AFC AFC AFC...
Damn good game....except U2.
I know. I know. I've just never cared for them.
Great, Chargers have to play the Patriots again next season. Last time they played in San Diego, I had to sit there and listen to a shitload of chowder heads with their obnoxious New England accents try to pick fights with me. These guys are not as criminal as Raider fans but they are more obnoxious. One good thing is that unlike Raider fans, New England fans don't need a knife to back up their big mouths.
